View Japanese text on a text or document

It there a way to view Japanese text on a text or document file?
Ime only allows me to do this on the internet not on word, so what should I do?

You gotta fiddle around in the control panel. Specifically Regional Settings. Set the default language for Non-Unicode programs to Japanese, and restart. There might be one other setting, but can't recall right now.

You should only need to install file support for eastern languages. and in regional settings then the advanced tab you can select ime options for what language to view programs in.
