Didnt give up on the idea just been ill recently and before that extremely busy with some things.

I think I will just set a date this August and a place and see if anybody can come, as these negotiations are getting nowhere haha.

Oh a meeting idea sounds fantastic house party and booze sounds even better. I live about 6 hours from london but i love to travel so im up for it if and when it happens ^_^

I'm really sorry that I couldn't be the mover-and-shaker in the great UK meet that I'd hoped to be a few months ago....events have overtaken me...I'd envisaged a daytime in a park (probably Green Park or St James' in London) followed by some Japanese food at one of the myriad, excellent restaurants around that area (and then perhaps some karaoke for any who were keen ) but I'm not able at the moment to organise everything...

anyway, I would be delighted to attend if anyone else could organise something. I'll try to get to anything, certainly, but the further north it is from London the more difficult it is for me (I have a rabid fear of the M25, alas)

I'll try to keep up with the thread here, let's hope we'll get something sorted out!!

(Btw I'll be at Get Loaded in the Park on Clapham Common on the 26th if anyone's going - would be great to say hi!)

I have a house that I don't mind if people crash out in. I'm based in the Midlands; pm me if you want to know what city. I'd be up for hosting a meet at a park in my city (could advise people on driving, parking etc.) but I'm not available bank holiday weekend, Sunday 1st Sept or the weekends of 15/16 or 22/23 Sept.

I hope to start organising a central London meet in the next few weeks for the first half of September, but in the meantime I'm still open (of course!) to suggestions about a meet anywhere else!

Whilst not a meet as such, I've found myself with two unneeded tickets for the Get Loaded in the Park festival thingy, and wonder if anyone's interested?

It's this Sunday (26th, I think): 12-9pm at Clapham Common. Should be a good day out for music lovers - four stages with everything from rap to dance to rock (four separate stages I think). Acts include The Streets, Dirty Pretty Things, Dizzee Rascal, 2ManyDJs etc etc.

If anyone wants to buy them feel free to get in touch by pm. I bought them slightly cheaper than they should be, and I'm not looking to sell them at any profit.

You'd be most welcome to hang out with me and my friends at the gig, or just take the tickets, say hello, and go your own way for the day!

The concert in the park was fun last weekend - the sun even smiled for us!

Back on topic - has anyone had any further thoughts here? I'll probably be away for a few months from October, but will try to attend anything before then.

I hope no-one minds, but to keep things simple I've launched a separate thread for a London meet on September 22nd here.

I reckon the one we're discussing on this thread looks to be outside London. Here's hoping that there's enthusiasm enough for both, but I'll be glad to see anyone who can make it along to London that day for some Japanese nosh and good banter.

I'll keep my eye on this thread too, hope to see as many as possible sometime soon!
