UK - Meet Idea

For all the UK Jref members, perhaps we should have a get together at some point in the summer.

Now im placing this as an Idea for a few reasons. We all have to work im sure and organising a date will be more of a communal thing where we find the best date for all.

Where we meet is no problem to me, might even be able to procure my house for a good party. When I say party I am a student so drunken madness will ensue. 👍

Just throwing an idea about as I reckon a few chilled beers and food with the UK members would be a good laugh. Please bounce your ideas back at me :-) .

he even added some piccu's, what fascinating we all live in the same world but we are scattered all so far from each other.

I'd be up for a meet - been thinking about the very same thing - I think it's a great idea!

It's very kind of you to suggest your place as a venue, Zaff :) I'm south of London here, so Rotherham's quite far for me, it'd take a few weeks of planning for me to make it up there (lol, it'd take me a few weeks just to work out the route on the map!)

Why don't we see who shows an interest, and where they're all based, and take things from there?

Perhaps as an additional idea, it's very easy for me to get to London, would the London-based members be up for a casual meet sometime - perhaps just a bit of Japanese food somewhere and maybe a pint or two?

(Dare I mention karaoke???!! 😊 )

Forget the Karaoke, but would never say No to a pint mos, think I could get all three of us down to London area in the future, money willing lol

I can easily get to London, it's an hour and twenty minutes direct by train from where I live. :)

Then again, I'm in the middle, so I can get to more or less anywhere. ^.^
 
Well it seems most who have posted an interest so far are north (?) of London!

I shall put my London idea on the back-burner till we see if any other fine Jreffers are able and willing to join our little soiree. (If anyone is in the capital and keen to get a few of us together, just say the word, of course!)

In the meantime I think it'd be useful if people could tell us roughly where in the country they are so we can get thinking about the destination - doesn't have to be too specific, just the general area of the country would help :)

Dutch_Baka: cheers! I'm a little shy of putting my pic on the net, but if we can get this party started I shall certainly bring along my Pikachu mask so I can join in the jpeg fun!
 
Sound like a good idea. I'm like Kinsao and live in the midlands (North Warwickshire) so either way is good for me.👍
 
London is great for me too, Im down there once a month anyways seeing friends or shopping etc... London also has a nice selection of restaurants and bars/pubs.
 
Has anyone had any further ideas on this?

(I've had plenty of thoughts, and will try to post them in the next few days. The long and the short of it is; we could all have a very nice time together I think, if something can be arranged!!...)

I'm still up for it, and location doesn't really matter to me as long as it has a train station! :)

Any time after July 8th is good for me. :)
 
May be in London area around 30th June, but only for a day, got to get home and get myself ready for the Tour De France.

(I thought it came through London....it does pass us in Kent. I shall be on the sidelines near Tonbridge with my promotional banner for Jref, along with my elephant sunset t-shirt, in any case :))

I may be away in August if that's when the meet will take place, (in fact, hopefully I shall be...in my second-home country of Japan, swilling beer and eating saikoro suteki in an izakaya somewhere👍) but am always up for a beer.

Give me a shout (in advance of) when you're down in these fair parts, we should sup a quick one together!!

No Im not LOL, I need time to get digibox set up on Eurosport, move daughter out of front room and take over the tv, it takes time lol

Mind you if I do come down to London, it will be myself and my good wife and our daughter who's into Nightmare, think I will give you fair warning just in case LOL

I would be up for something like this, but meh, am in a different part of the country, doubt it would be all that hard for me to though.
 
about me envying the British...

boohoo...I wanna come too. Being Dutch is no fun I decided! I've absolutely too little money to afford a trip to London... anyone volunteering to pay the trip...perhaps somebody owns an airline company? nobody at all? :( such a shame...hai hai am going to do some more homework now (very depressed of course)... anyway..if you succeed in planning the meeting have all the fun in the world!
 
Im still up for the idea just to let you all know. My lack of presence is down to my multiple assignments that need to be in. Plus the fact im now working even more hours, I barely have time to sleep haha.
 
Why not in Birmingham? Not just because it is the closest to me, but it is central and probably the easiest for most people to get to especially any up north or in Wales.
 
Mycernius your onto something there haha, but im really easy on that front. I still think London sounds good. So Please now post these details.
