Yahoo Finance took a look at Japan's Top 16 companies.

The Japanese business landscape is diverse and is known for its ability to adapt and thrive in challenging economic times. According to Business Standard, the nominal GDP in FY 2023 is forecasted to set a new high of 571 trillion yen, a 2.1% increase from the previous fiscal year, despite the economic downturn around the world.

Only one Japanese company is listed in the Global Top 100: Toyota Corporation, ranking 28th. The Global Top 100 are dominated by U.S. and Chinese companies. In terms of market capitalisation, Japan ranks 13th among the Global Top 100.
