😍Love what is Love: 😍

love is found in all of human cultures in differnt ways, love is found in differnt kind of types.

you can love your child, your wife, your girlfriend, but even your car, or your Computer, and country's

as i have dated several girls in my short life i always found differnt idea's about love, even in my relationship now, with my japanese girl, i found some big differnce of the meaning of Love.. how far do you go for each other, is work more important then your beloved one? etc

so here are some of my qeustions, think about it!

1. what is love for you? and wich love is most important
2. have you ever loved or been loved
3. does Love bring peace to the world? or do you think that Love is also a reason for making war?
4. what is your favourite Love Poem/song

as for me:

1. Love is for me the most important in the world, especialy for my girl, who give me hope , strenght, power, happyness , and more, she is they only one who can make me a better man in this , sometimes bad/sad world. love is Giving, Sharing, to find peace together. as im just 20 it sound young for a lot of people, and even to myself sometimes, but i think im old enough to know what love is, and how to handle it. even i have much more to learn, beside my love for my girl, i started a new love for Japan, as it is a beautiful country, and i most of all like the culture of it

2. I have a beautifull fiance, whom i will get married with in 2 months from now.

3. Both of them, i think love bring people Closer, bring peace, but love in differnces... can bring war... people love there leader, and other people love there leader, so they fight against each other

4. i dont really have a love Poem, but i have a piano play from Joe Hisaishi "summer" and a song from the australian guy sebastian "Angels Brought me Here

so please people, let me know your meaning of love, and your other opinions!

This is hard for me to answer, but I'll give it a try. Hmmm let's see, you mentioned some interesting things here. 👍 Love to me is having passion for someone you care about. That's why I believe marraige is like sealing the bond, the passion you have.

Having love for your country or leader, now sometimes I think people are brainwashed into loving their country and leader. But when this isn't the case, the love you have for your country can come from what your country has contributed to the world, same goes for leaders. But I think love is far too complex to be put into words.

yeah you are right in that, that love is way to complex to put in words, but what isnt nowadays LOL... thanks for your post

1. Well, since I've been married, I have realized what love is not. Love is not only making money so that your family is provided for. I mean, it's good, but it's not the only thing. I think some people truly believe that's the only way of showing love...

Love, to me, should be not providing money, but providing other kinds of support. It should be making someone believe in themselves, it should be accepting someone for who they are. Love should be passionate. It should be showing affection(lots of affection for me, please). It should be helping the other with something they need help with, even if it's as simple as washing the dishes. Love should even be holding your partner when they throw up. It should be being able to share something that you both enjoy and sharing (at least some)opinions and values. Love is being able to talk about anything at all. And most importantly, love, to me, should be about joking and laughing with each other. Love should have a sense of humor.

Over the past 8 years, I have finally come to realize what love is. It's a shame that I'm married and don't have hardly any of it.

2. Well, I think I have been loved, and goodness knows I've loved. I love now...

3. Both. I'm not coherent enough to give my reasons... :p

4. Too many to name. Depends on the time, person, and place.

Love of ones children is an extream feeling of protection.

Love for ones partner is a myth created when you first meet them, give it 6 months after the sex has disapeared and love goes to someone else. Someone new and exciting for the next 6 months.

Its a creation by us to make us look less selfish and sex driven.

If love is a good feeling inside you as your heart beats faster and you get sweaty palms then im in love with very many women.

If its the feeling to protect and look after your partner then again i would be in love with very many women. Its merely choosing one and sticking with them to make you look like you have some kind of decency.

You could easily trade them for another one and feel the same.

Am i heartless lol

1. love for me is.... uh cannot define it... it is priceless felling, unique and rare... most important for all kind of loves? most important is love i give, not the one i get.
2. well, kind of both, i guess... but i am still wiating for that 'big love' that everyone talk about
3. both and none.
4. hmm... too much... maybe 'nothing compares to you' by sinead o'conor (i just listened it, so thats why i mention it) but there is more and more..

Kirei put it very well, as far as romantic love goes. One thing that annoys me is when people confuse platonic love (ie for sister, son, mom, etc) with romantic love. They are two completely different emotions coming from two different parts of the brain. Lust is tied in with romantic love a lot more than most people want to admit.

Love (both kinds) is the most important thing in life. It still surprises me to this day how late in life some people discover that money cannot make you happy. Romantic love is more important to me than platonic, but then again I have not had children.

I'd be curious to see how all the 20 year kids' responses to this thread change in 8 or 10 years.

No

I like to think in rational terms, so for me love is something that is based on hormones, chemical signals and stimuli, physical attraction and stimuli, desire to procreate with a very very matching or optimal mate........ there can be many out there..... and usually the drug of love is supposed to last for about three years..... and then it turns into another feeling that has made for us to maintain the stable family structure.

That doesn't mean that love isn't something special, for me sharing something so raw and basic that is core to our nature is the most sublime feeling one can have as a human being.

Ive noticed alot of the time this Other feeling after 3 years you talk about can just be Habit. After spending so long with someone it can feel sad to lose them more out of losing the habit then actually loving the person. What do you do when the major part of your life goes? whether you liked it or not.

Well actually scientifically, from the love that is passionate fire and what not of the 3 first years, the chemical signals change to stimulate a good feelin by being with that person, so whereas in the first 3 years you are made to feel good to stay with that person so that the offspring is born and gets well developed, the later stage makes you feel good to stay with the other person so that the structure of male and female and offspring becomes stable and there is the creation of the family so that ultimately the offspring has more chances of survival.

Answer 1 :

What is Love ...??

Life comprses of 2 major constituents phiosphically.
a. A Frozen River
b. A Burning Flame
The 'burning flame' is Love. ( by khalil jibran )

Which love is most important .. ??

Love for one's Ownself is the most important of all Loves.

(to be continued ...

Principle is the same, the instinct is there despite if one has an offspring or not.

No fault of mine, :p but I think the only one of these I'm truly missing out
on is being able to talk about and share anything without embarrassment.
Although being able to laugh and joke together at weird things that no one else would find funny is most important for me as well and goes a long way towards making up for that. 😍

I guess love is lots of things... but one of my favorite sayings about love is this:

Love is friendship on fire

1. what is love for you? and wich love is most important
The two equal number 1 loves is love for your family and love for your partner, in no particular order.
Love for me is to feel comfortable dossing about in a t-shirt and boxer shorts and feeling as comfortable with someone as comfortable as when i am on my own, because, ussually, i am a very private and different person in public.

2. have you ever loved or been loved.
Yes.

3. does Love bring peace to the world? or do you think that Love is also a reason for making war?
No....i think understanding and compassion brings peace, but love has been a cause for conflict throughout human history but, in a way, if there must be any reason for conflict and war, what better one is there then the pure sincere love for who or whatever your fighting for?.
War would make more sense if it was fought for the love of someone rather then the greed of resources.

4. what is your favourite Love Poem/song
Marvin Gaye - Lets get it on, obviously.

1. what is love for you? and wich love is most important
Love is being able to be yourself, putting up with things you don't like, and absolute trust that you will not be betrayed. I think love for your partner is more important and fulfilling than love for your family, because you choose that person and you have to work hard at it.

2. have you ever loved or been loved.
Yes. In the past I have thought I was in love, but it was not true love. If you feel self-conscious or jealous or you can't accept something about the person and want them to change it is not love - just lust or infatuation.

3. does Love bring peace to the world? or do you think that Love is also a reason for making war?
Real love brings peace, because real love brings satisfaction. It is dissatisfaction (greed, lust for power etc) that causes wars.

4. what is your favourite Love Poem/song
Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton for the song and She Walks in Beauty by Lord Byron for the poem. One is about a man's love for his wife, the other about a man's love for his daughter, which are the two most important relationships in my life.

Three Kinds I Was Taught:

🙂 😇 😍
I was taught that there is three kinds of love:they all have some latin names but I can only remember EROS .
1. love for god, or your religion
2. love for family
3. (EROS) the sexual attraction for others, thus love for one's lover.

Later on I learned that according to the Japanese in the olden days, there was no such thing as love, but our idea of love today, existed then, in a number of concepts.I can't remember how many there were, but it is about 5 or 6. Perhaps someone here has heard of this aswell, or perhaps it is only fictitious, created by the author of a book I read once. Anyway it is said that, the concept of love in itself does not exist, but things like, loyalty, respect, trust, devotion, honesty (i think these 5) is what love is.Thus a Japanese wife will be honest (honto) with her husband, meaning she loves him.But not love him like in the meaning of AI as it is understood today.(does this make any sense?)

I LOVE JAPAN AND JAPANESE PEOPLES!I can't help crying whenever I hear the National Anthem of Japan, or prevent the tears that well up in my eyes when I hear of an earthquake that struck,or some tsunami, it saddens me, when I think so many people that I love (respect) just died.

I want to life in JAPAN forever, but things are holding me back. I have recently met the most beautiful guy, and now am so confused!I have spent my entire childhood life, reading about the Japanese, studying the Language and training myself to be serene and all those wonderful things that Japanese children are supposedly taught. Now I am about to throw this dreams away for someone that I think I love. This is to answer the 2nd question, I have never loved anyone, I think I am heartless when it comes to Eros love, I feel nothing that feels like love to me!Sure I am crazy about this guy but will I give up my Japan dream to stay with him. Good guys are really few in this life, and my friends tell me if this thing with this guy does not work out JAPAN WILL ALWAYS BE THERE .

I feel alot like Tim33, if he no longer loves me let him move on.If I can't satisfy his lust, then let him go, why hamper him in his quest to find the ultimate ride?Surely LOVERS CAN BE TRADED, like Tim33 says.

The one thing I think is that, some people, like myself has so much love to give, one person is not enough. I feel sad that when I will start seriously dating this awsome guy, I won't be able to give love to other peoples.

If you have a wonderful man, put your dream of visiting Japan on hold for just a while... and see how things work out. Like you say - if your relationship doesn't work, Japan will still be there. 😌

People are more important than countries any day. :-)

thank you Kinsao.
Do you wish to remain in England always?
Do you wanna live in Japan?

Welllllllll.............. I never really knew anything much about Japan until earlier this year, in fact! Then I found jrock music, over the internet, and so I became more interested... I had reason to find things out then.

I really wanted to know the lyrics, so I began to learn Japanese by myself and I enrolled in a class (starts next month! yay! 😄 ). That was how I found this forum, I was looking at the 'language' section.

And shortly after that I got a Japanese boyfriend... that was a total coincidence that I met him, it was nothing to do with language learning or music... well in fact it was because he was learning English and I gave him some help, but that's it.

He studies in the UK, but asked me maybe some time we could live in Japan. Well, if our relationship lasts, it might happen. So, from no real interest in Japan (not above any other country, I mean), that is the other extreme you could say! Almost back-to-front from your situation...

I would never have thought to live in Japan if I hadn't have met him. :p

wow, that sounds so sweet, you are really very lucky.in my personal opinion, if you move to Japan with him i don't think you will ever regret it for a moment! 👍

and good luck with your studies babe, i wish you all of the best! 🌹

I don't believe in coincidences. Events conspired so that you would meet. I believe in that kind of fate. :joyful:

This is another thread which I'd been eyeing for a while. I could spend some time here as well as on others, but...

I generally (and just to save time) put love into three catagories (although there are thought to be four--as far as I know) and these are the broadest groupings, you could say:

AGAPE--the admiration, respect, and altruism of humanity and animals--life
PHILIAS--the closeness, warmth, fun, desire for friendship and family--relations
EROS--the desire, binding, oneness of the preferred sex--biological binding

I could say a lot more, but will leave it at this. I like love, think it's the most important thing life forms can achieve, and could stop war and fighting if it could reach to an absolute international human level (which I think, unfortunately, is near impossible). Maybe we should learn from the bonobos? banobos? (I can't recall the spelling--but one of the chimpanzee lines. They make love, not war--literally regardless of sex.
