I often download songs and videos from Japanese users on WinMX
I don't speak Japanese, and sometimes if I ask them to start my download [in English], they just ignore me

so I think it might help if I learn a few sentences in Japanese, like:

1.could you start me please? or would you mind to start me? or something like that
2. I am at number ___
3.I need __ mb to finish the file
4.do you want to trade?

5.I do not speak Japanese
[many Japanese users download stuffs from me,and sends messages to me in Japanese]

thanks alot

You're lucky you just get ignored.

When I was still using WinMX and people asked to be bumped to the head of the queue I normally threw them into the sin bin.

Is there some special reason you either can't wait your turn in line or don't think you should have to?

Most especially, I detested people asking if I wanted to "trade".

most of the time I would wait,
but if the file is rare,or it took me long time to find it,or the file is very big and it took me days to get to __%,
and it says I am on queue 200 or something like that, I would ask the person if he/she would mind to start me

actually I don't ask for trades,I don't think I ever did,but some users would ask me to trade

I think it is something like this:

5. 日本語を話すことができない (nihongo wo hanasu koto ga dekinai) - Cannot speak japanese

But please consider buying some media instead of downloading all of it.

Nothing wrong with asking to trade providing you're asking someone to start your download who is present in your upload queue.

See above.

Based on my logical evaluation of game theory, and not from downloading tons of anime, you're better off
- ignoring everybody
- getting MXmonitor
- taking advantage of other people with mxmonitor by downloading files from people in your upload queue.

thanks
ya I support buying CDs,
mp3s are for me to try the music and discover artists and bands,
I would buy them if they are available in the stores, which should not be a problem if they are North American artists.
the only problem is that I don't have a credit card yet so I can't buy stuff on the internet, some materials are quite hard to find in Vancouver.

Same problem here. The good stuff is really rare and buying on the internet doesn't solve the problem, because S&H is mostly usury.

EDIT:
4. 売り買いしたいですか (urikai shitai desu ka) - want to trade?
(I'm not sure whether 売り買いする is the correct verb!)

Jan

売り買いしたいですか, no you can't say that. 売り買い is trade as in buying and selling.

曲を交換したいですか (kyoku wo koukan shitai desu ka) sounds better i think ("want to exchange songs?").

I mostly get 交換していただけませんか or something along those lines. Next time I'm on I'll copy what people send me and paste them in here. A good lesson on the language of P2P in Japanese.

-Jeff

"交換しませんか?"

-A simple one I got today.

Another one here. Heh, pretty funny.

よかったら交換お願いできませんか?
よろしくお願いします!!m(_ _)m

You know I think I'll do a search for people sharing めちゃいけ with names suspiciously close to cacawate and send you some _really_ funny ones.
