Hi guys! Im not often started a thread, actually I only post one thread which is about my country (Philippines). Today I joined in Filipino forum and there is one topic there that caught my attention. They discuss which one do you choose Someone you love or Someone loves you? Guys who will you choose? and why? :-)

Definetly someone who loves me, because "someone you love" sounds like the other person doesn't care much about you ^^'

I agree! If I knew someone loved me i would probably start to like them! lol 🙂

How About....

"SOMETHING" that loves me? The love of a pet like a cat or dog is so much stronger then a person. You can "talk" to them much easier then a person and they don't say the wrong thing back. You don't have to spend a lot of money on them, just feed them and give them a pat now & again. The purr my cat gives me is as much of a turn on & good feeling as anything a human can give me? I have to admit, I do love my wife almost as much as the cat!

I'd say someone you love because then if you would be with someone that loves you, but you don't, it would be fake, u would be using that person's feelings and in a way lying to them. Anyhow, if you dont love someone, their love alone for you won't be enough to keep you together, if you are not into it, then eventually u will be drawn away, or you will remain with that person, but you will be unsatisfied and not 100% hapy.

This is a difficult one. I started to say 'someone who loves me', but I've had that problem a few times. Someone was in love with me, but I didn't love them back and I couldn't bring myself to love them back, even though I tried. On the other hand, if I said I would want 'someone to love', that person might be in the same situation that I was in the 'someone who loves me' category. Someone who might not want my attention/love, and I couldn't be in that position either. If someone doesn't feel the same way about me, I will just withdraw completely.

So...where to turn? :?

haha ! :D I'm sure my DH gets quite jealous of the love and attention I give my pets... he was once quite put out that I was making my baby budgies dinner before even starting ours.. I guess I got my priorities mixed up!

as for the original question.... why settle for less? I would have to say both. Isn't that what a real relationship is about? At least mutual respect and affection. I married young and didn't fully understand what a huge commitment I'd made until after the wedding. It really hits me now what a huge mistake I could've made. Thankfully I couldn't have chosen a better partner to go through life with. 🎊

ETA: opps realised this was aimed at guys but oh well...

Ooops...was it aimed at guys only? :? Oh well.

And good to see you, nzueda!!!!!!!!!!!! 👍 We have missed you!

really? Who would've thought!! anyway, nice to be back too. Although I'm sure it will keep me from studying even more *sigh*

Hmmm... tough question... :?
I guess I would like that I love the guy even if he doesn't love me... yet. Good thing it hasn't happened to me. 😌

if a girl loves me but I have no feelings for her,I am not gonna go with her, I do not want her to be hurt

to me,loving someone, does not mean I have to be together with her,
if she doesn't love me, I'll just be there for her always, if I say I don't mind seeing her going with another guy, that would be a lie, I do mind, but if she is happy with the guy and finds her true love, I am gonna be happy for her too.

A bit out of context, but sometimes the most fullfilling relationships start out with mutual enemies.

I couldn't agree more! :?

I definately think it's more important to love the person.

In high school, my first "love".... We went out for a long time and eventually I realized that what I liked about her was that she liked me a lot, thought I was cool, was one of the first girls to ever show an interest in me, and she was cute, but that wasn't enough to base a relationship on. I realized that there really wasn't anything directly about her that I liked. She was quiet and didn't really have much on her mind, so she was just kind of like a presence.

I think a lot of the time when people treat their partners badly, it's because they really don't have feelings for the partner, but they like that the partner likes them. And showing someone how much you like them, usually isn't going to make them like you more. I'd rather someone show me why I should like them rather than showing me how much they like me.

The main thing is that there has to be a balance in the relationship of how much the two people like eachother. Two people who like eachother a lot can work, even two people who are only luke-warm about eachother can work, but if one person really likes the other and the feeling is not returned, it's not going to work. "I can love enough for the both of us," just doesn't work at all.

The question is kainda moot, because neither is really good.
If someone loves you, but you don't like him/her back, it's pointless. Same the other way round. There has to be at least a bit of mutual feeling.

I agree. As much as it is nice to have someone love you I would probably only go into a relationship where there is mutaul love.

I think mimmy meant with GUYS...ALL of you people, both male & female ;-) hehe...

That's a question that depends on the other person I think, everyone is different, so you can't choose just one of the 2 (my opinion)
😌

Both. I know it is a phylisophical question but I believe that without love from both partners then it can never work anyways. But if I had to chose it would be someone who loves me.

If ever you find yourself in a relationship where the other person digs you, but you're not diggin' them, you'll find that it sucks. It's impossible to fake an interest if you're not feeling it. You end up feeling guilty because your feelings aren't as strong as theirs, but you can't change it. And untimately, you're just biding your time until you break their heart and being dishonest about your feelings all the while. Not a good way to go. And the flipside's no fun either. So I guess I'm just strengthening the case for it having to come from both sides.

☝ When I read the title, I get the impression that its the same thing backwards and forward. Well, I pick that she loves me like i love her. Then again.....that is if i would let myself fall in love....again...and thats definately not happening. 😏

I have no idea. Love messes you up so bad that pondering about an answer for that now wouldn't help much.
And if I fell in love again I would run for the hills! ! :D

doesn't get any better than that!

oh yeah, i'll say:
someone that loves me.
as long as she's not butt-ugly, really fat or a he.
