I'm practicing putting simple sentences together. I'll list some below with what I'm trying to say. If you feel like it, let me know if I'm communicating properly. Please remember that I have the barest grasp of Japanese grammar. Any Kanji shown below comes from Wakan when I type in the kana. I think it's correct, but let me know where I flubbed, if you'd like.

この短いエンピツは私のです。
This short pencil is mine.

白い犬は速いです。
The white dog is fast.

バスは遅いですか?
Is the bus late?

彼は有名な警官でした。
He was a famous policeman.

飛行機はバスより速いです。
An airplane is faster than a bus.

高地が怖いです。
I'm scared of heights.

That's probably enough for now. :D I'll just keep on studying. Let me know if I did ok.
🙂

PS: If you reply with Kanji, I'll do my best to translate, but no promises.

Can someone move this to the Grammar and Sentences Forum, please? I didn't see it when I created the thread. Thanks!

Fantt, nice job! You nailed every one of them from the grammar point of things, and you got all of the kanji right too! The only thing that I would consider changing would be エンピツ -> 鉛筆, but that's just a stylistic consideration, and perhaps 高地 isn't appropriate for the sense you mean (I think maybe takai tokoro would be better?). Keep on studying; it's definitely paying off! 👍👍
