Totally lame. I read that before I started learning Japanese and was a bit intimidated by it. Now I know it's not true.

The good thing about learning Japanese is that after a while things start to make sense. You don't need to rely on rote memory to memorize needless grammatical genders. Kanjis on the other hand ar quite predictable after you've gotten the hang of it. Ganbatte!

Ha! very funny; looks like there's a lot of truth in it too. BUT the good thing is that, with the language being so ridiculously complicated, managing to learn ANYTHING AT ALL is an achievement to be proud of.
