Sentence order help

Would like help constructing the sentence below:

Mary and Takeshi met and talked for about an hour.

My attempt:
メアリさんと武さんは一時間ぐらい会って、話しました。

The order is correct, but 会って話しました(without comma) or 会って話をしました would be better. Also, if you intend to say "happened to meet and then talked", the order should be 出会って（から）、一時間ぐらい話しました.
