Secrets, Love, time or sacrifice?

I'm a black woman and I've been dating a Japanese man for about 9 months. I met him in the U.S but now I moved to Japan. It seems in America, we spent a fair amount of time together, meeting almost everyday. Now that I'm here, I hardly see him though he does really kind things unexpectedly, like bought me grocery and even lent me money for a place to stay.
Yet I wanted to go out on a date with him and he refused. I'm not sure if he's hiding me or being cheap.
I don't know what to do because he's made big sacrifices for me lately but is it worth it if we aren't spending time together? And should I apologize? Gah!! help!

What big sacrifices has he made for you? Sounds like you two have almost no communication, you need to talk to him about your concerns about no spending enough time together.
