Question about あたり

「二人とも真っ赤になって必死なあたりが、図らずも一生懸命な女の子感出しちゃってるし」
I'm wondering about the meaning of あたり here. I've seen it used like this a few times and I can't figure it out.

It's close to ところ, but has a nuance that what is mentioned is an example. If that is 二人とも真っ赤になって必死なところが, 二人とも真っ赤になって必死だ is the only reason why they are girlish.
