Predicting Earthquakes

Here the ion graph

Here the ion graph, to verify for everybody themself. Usually, there is a straight line around 0 if there is no activity - 120 is the maximum of the scale and has rarely been hit so far.

Actually today there has been a strong quake offshore.
It seems the ions were correct - if they can account for the quake. Additionally, today has been a full-moon day which increases the chance for earthquakes to a certain percentage.

earthquake prediction for japan

hello friends,
again my prediction has come true.a strong earthquake has occured in japan on 19 july 2008 of magnitude 6.6 on richter scale in eastern honshu.check this page-

Predicting Earthquakes For Japan

hello friends,
i dont know where to publish my methods,is there any organisation in the world that give recognition to my methods .
I AM VEDIC ASTROLOGER ,THESE METHODS WERE USED BY INDIAN RISHIS(mystics) THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO TO PREDICT ANY EVENT OR CALAMITY AROUND THE WORLD.
THOUGH I CAN PREDICT FOR ANY COUNTRY BUT IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO PREDICT AN EVENT SIMULTANEOUSLY FOR EACH AND EVERY NATION. AS I NEED LOT OF BIG ORGANIZATIONS (PEOPLE) TO HELP ME TO PREDICT FOR MAJOR COUNTRIES.
TILL DATE NOT A SINGLE ORGANIZATIONS HAS COME FORWARD TO HELP ME.

I agree that the current seismological circles do not accept this type of approach to predication. You can focus on the big ones that will certain wreak havoc. Say, an earthquake above Richter Scale 7 under a major metropolitan area whose focus is less than 10 km. If the Japanese media catches it, they will go crazy about it. :-)

Predicting Earthquakes For Japan

hello friends,
an earthquake is likely to strike japan in south western region or eastern honshu on 12 or 16 sep 2008 of magnitude of 6 to 7 on richter scale.

though i have not worked much on this quake but i still feel that earthquake could occur.

Strong earthquake will strike japan in feb 2009

hello friends,
my next prediction for japan is -

A STRONG EARTHQUAKE IS LIKELY TO STRIKE JAPAN ON 23 OR 25 FEB 2009 POSSIBILY EASTERN HONSHU OR BETWEEN AREA NORTH-EASTERN HONSHU AND SOUTH OF HOKKAIDO .MAGNITUDE OF THIS QUAKE IS LIKELY TO REMAIN BETWEEN 6.3 TO 7.2 ON RICHTER SCALE.

so peolpe living in japan around this areas should take precautions on these dates.
check my earthquake prediction on youtube-

So where is the big quake? Can I get out of my bunker now? lol

Isn't a bunker one of the worst places you could be during an earthquake?
You are likely to buried under ground. Best be out on the street not surrounded by large buildings.

Last night's quake was scarey

Hey, Rahul! Why didn't u warn us about last night's quake? It was scarey--long and pretty intense. Fortunately, no damage or casualties, afaik. 😌

(BTW, one of the best places you can go during an earthquake is the toilet - it's structurally stronger than any other room.)

I heard it was one of the worst in over a year. Glad everyone is safe ! Was the ground moving up and down or did it cause a back and forth motion ? 😌

Strong earthquake in japan

HELLO EVERYBODY,
ITS BEEN A LONG TIME NOW SINCE I PREDICTED ON THIS FORUM.ACTUALLY I PREDICTED THIS EARTHQUAKE OF AUGUST 9 2009 IN JAPAN.BUT FORGOT TO POST IT HERE-

I GOT LOCATION OF THIS QUAKE WRONG THE ONLY REASON THAT NOW I AM LOSING MY INTEREST IN PREDICTING THESE QUAKES BECAUSE I THINK I AM NOT GETTING ANY RESPONSE FROM AUTHORITIES WHO COULD HAVE ENCOURAGED ME ON MY NEW RESEARCH.

NOW I DONT GET MUCH TIME FOR QUAKE PREDICTIONS AS I AM BUSY IN MY PROFESSION.
DONT KNOW IF TRY TO PREDICT EACH EARTHQUAKE THAT WILL STRIKE JAPAN IN FUTURE.

Well, thanks for the reply, Rahul. I don't know how I should take your last prediction, though. The location was wrong, and I didn't know about it until too late.

As for getting your work noticed by those in charge, you should publish your research in a scientific journal. If it holds up to peer scrutiny, you could get your own research lab, or even a Nobel Prize, maybe even an appearance on Oprah! Send the article to the geophysics dept. at Hokkaido Univ.

So keep at it, and good luck. BTW, some experts believe Tokyo has a 90 percent chance of being hit by a major quake in the next 50 years. Do you have a more precise prediction?

Another One

There was another strong tremblor in Tokyo that woke me up this morning. And a bunch of strong quakes around the Pacific (near Vanuata Island, and one by Santa Cruz California) and one off India, yesterday. Is this just a coincidence or something more worrisome. :?

All caps AND a shim-sham man. What a combo.

Fine, I declare myself the sworn mortal enemy of your friend "Mr. Earthquake Predictor Man." My name is now DOCTOR QUAKE!!! I will strike and cause an earthquake at exactly 8am August 23 off the shore of Sendai!!!

Prepare for my coming, bwahaha!

Well, the experts here have determined that the two recent earthquakes are not directly related, so I think we can breathe easeir. But these experts also warned us that the expected Big One--8+ on Richter scale has an 87% chance of hitting Eastern Japan within 30 years. They think it might hit the same area of Shizuoka, but then again...

Alert system fails to detect quake !!!

The Yomiuri Shimbun

Seismometers failed to detect the precursors of a strong earthquake that hit Shizuoka Prefecture and neighboring areas Tuesday morning.

The government must now reexamine the measures it has taken to limit the damage caused by a powerful quake in preparation for a predicted devastating temblor referred to as a Tokai earthquake, according to specialists.

The earthquake with intensity of lower 6 on the Japanese scale of 7 occurred in a region where the Tokai earthquake is predicted to occur in the near future.

Following the establishment of a special law, the government set up 21 devices to detect imminent earthquakes, including devices that can measure a release of energy from pre-slips, in areas predicted to be at the epicenter of the next Tokai earthquake.

But the system was unable to detect the primary wave of the earthquake that occurred Tuesday morning.

The strain-measurement devices that have been set up are capable of detecting even the slightest change in underground stored energy. Scientists note, however, that it remains difficult to detect the precursors of an earthquake.

Scientists in the field say detecting precursors is possible only if the magnitude of an imminent quake is at least 8 on the Richter scale and the epicenter is both close to the devices and not offshore.

The epicenter of Tuesday's earthquake was offshore, far from the devices and had a magnitude of 6.5 on the Richter scale.

Earthquake warnings were, however, issued by the Meteorological Agency one or two seconds before tremors in Omaezaki, Izu and other areas where an intensities of lower 6 were recorded. The agency said warnings could theoretically be issued nearly five seconds before a quake with an intensity of upper 5 occurs.

Some seismologists said Tuesday morning's quake makes it more likely the Tokai earthquake will occur.

Basic steps that can be taken to protect against a major earthquake are to strengthen the quake-proof capabilities of buildings and evacuate to a high place after a quake to avoid a likely tsunami.

Meteorological Agency's strong quake prediction proves wrong

The Meteorological Agency's warning that a powerful earthquake would jolt Chiba and Ibaraki prefectures as well as downtown Tokyo early Tuesday has proven wrong.

The temblor actually registered less than one on the 7-point Japanese intensity scale. However, the warning forced Tokyo subway operators to temporarily suspend services.

Agency officials attributed the false prediction to far higher warning data than actual figures, which was sent to the quake alert system from one of the seismometers near the epicenter. The agency apologized for the error and is investigating why such erroneous data was sent to the alert system.

At around 6:37 a.m. on Tuesday, an earthquake, estimated at 4.1 on the open-ended Richter scale, jolted the Kanto region. The focus of the quake was situated about 20 kilometers below the seabed east of Chiba Prefecture.

An emergency earthquake alert system at the agency analyzes data from seismometers near the epicenter of an earthquake immediately after it occurs. If the quake is expected to register up to lower 5 on the Japanese intensity scale, it announces the areas where it is estimated to register 4 or more.

The agency warned that Tuesday's temblor would register at least lower 5 in northeastern Chiba Prefecture and southern Ibaraki Prefecture, and 4 or more in other areas of these prefectures as well as Tokyo's 23 wards among other locations.

One of four seismometers installed in the city of Minamiboso, near the quake's epicenter, showed a tremor of 25 micrometers, but data sent to the agency's emergency earthquake alert system was 525 micrometers, 21 times the actual figure.

Agency officials say they believe that the seismometer was functioning properly and have suspended the operations of the quake alert system to see why such false data was sent to the system.

Strong earthquake in japan

hello friends a strong earthquake has occured today ,i am seeing strong quakes in nov of magnitude 6 and in dec 2009 .frequency of earthquakes of magnitude 6 and above in nov dec 2009 will increase.i am not been able to get place correct as told earlier i am not been able to give my time in giving these predictions now.check my video-

Question. Can science or anyone else predict when an event is going to happen on this planet?
Answer. Not completely. Weather people may be able to tell us if its going to rain tomorrow, they can get things wrong. But to me an earthquake is different, very different. It will happen when you least expect it. I do not personnaly believe that you can correctly predict when and where an earthquake is going to happen. If we could we would evacuate people from where the quake is due to hit in the same way the we do as regards to a hurricane or typhoon.

Strong earthquake in japan

a powerful earthquake is likely to strike japan on 9th or 13th august 2010 in eastern honshu (off chiba) or north eastern honshu of magnitude 7 to 8 on richter scale.

people living in these areas should take precautions around these dates.
