Heyhey

In my reading class we had to write poem and present to our class... I thought I wrote a pretty decent poem, so I wanted to post it!

If any of you are poets, please post you poems... :-)

I'm sure eveyone would like to read them :-D

Also, another fun thing to do is to rate everyone's poem 1 - 10, 1 being a piece of crap and 10 being like Edgar allen poe XD lol

OK! Well, here's my poem, it's called "Another World"
---

Anther World
by Tommy Kurpit

We are all so secluded
In a world of hatred and lies
We know we are oblivious
To everything on the outside

We definitely aren't open
To everything around us
As of me, it seems
To everyone, it's just a fuss

We are all so self-centered
Only caring for ourselves
But I'm sure all of them
Don't care for just themselves

We definitely aren't bighearted
Not caring for any others
It's how some people are ignored
Just because of all their colors

We are all so stupid
For saying those horrible things
How could we have done that?
To them, it stings

We definitely aren't outgoing
To travel to other places
We want to stay in our homes
And only see familiar faces

We are all so afraid
Of what might lie ahead
Are we thinking; is it true?
Yet that's only what I've read

We definitely aren't appreciative
As those people lay curled
So everywhere else
Might as well be another world

😌

I think about an hour... why? And thanks :-) I was pretty embarrised to read it to my class >_<

Deep poem!
I'll give my poem a shot... O.O

BLAZON

Feudal recollections in the ambient spirit

Chills of sorrow residing in their resltless bodies

Tearing hearts and broken hands are teeming

Decomposed memories lie to meekly fade

Gentle yet the tears falling in torrents from their miserable faces

What lies beyond the gates of freedom is to be seen

Rays of light peek out through the cotton clouds

Eyes of sapphire sparkle like celestials of the night

There is solid hope for you; don't give in

Melancholy smiles I see from afar

Know what is in your minds, my fellowmen

Not calloused nor blistered;take up your golden staffs in your hands

My pathos is with you and forever will be

Solemn guidance will no longer seek the rest of you

Keep all secret, for you are my treasured benefactors

*Thanks for your time reading it. ^^

I ask because sometimes I can write poems or stories really fast and then other times I can barely get a word out. Your poem seemed well thought out so I was just wondering if it just "popped" into your head or if you had an idea rolling around in the back of your mind for a while. So maybe how long it took to "write" wasn't the best word, create perhaps, would have been a better choice. I thought you wrote an excellent poem and don't be embarrased! It's hard to show people what you write creatively, because there is a little part of you in it.

Mine doesn't have a title yet. I'd not written anything for... *counts on fingers*... 9 years, until sometime late last year. 😌

I part my lips to speak my mind to you
And nothing comes out but a breath of air
But then another voice begins to speak
A voice inside I didn't know was there

As though your problems could be solved like this
By telling you the things you want to hear
My borrowed mouth puts on its velvet touch
Your ragged breath is burning in my ear

And somewhere in the arch of sky, my voice
Is echoed from that black and silver curve
To touch, like light, your ear and neck and chest
And eyes and hands and ribs and every nerve

I choose my words with care, to suit your breath –
Its pace, its rhythm and its rise and fall
I modulate and shape them in response
I use my tongue to sculpt each syllable

As though I am a singer, I control
Each subtle nuance, fluctuating tone
To graze each shuddering indrawn breath you take
To stroke and stretch and elongate each moan

As incoherence shakes you in its grip
Your voice cascades in disconnected cries
I hate myself for using words as weapons
I hate myself for telling you these lies

I know you know I didn't mean a word
And as I cut you off and turn away
I can't help thinking, now, at least, we're quits.
You never did believe me anyway.

"Home is behind the world ahead
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadow to the edge of night
Until the stars are all alight.

Mist and shadow
Cloud and shade
All shall fade
All shall fade"

Pippin's song is like a poem to me. Short text great meaning 👍
