Hi, Cue!
Well, "ulp" is onomatopoeia (擬音語) that represents swallowing. It is a form of "gulp," I believe, which is a real word that is related to swallowing.
As I used it, "ulp" represents being nervous or unsure about something. Some people perform the act of swallowing when they are nervous, and that has been carried over into written language. However, "ulp" is usually only used as a sound effect in comic strips and comic books, I believe, usually indicating that someone is nervous. "Gulp" is also used like this but, as it is a proper word, it also can be used in actual sentences for swallowing food or drink as well.
1. He quickly gulped down his cheeseburger. [verb]
(He ate voraciously (健啖に？), as if very hungry or very rushed.)
2. When he heard this, he gulped. [verb]
(This means that he swallowed out of nervousness.)
3. The only audible sound was his surprisingly loud gulp. [noun]
(He gulped very loudly.)

Oh... ^^ Ohh well... Yeah, I always thought with languages you use "wo", but when I asked Doinkies to make sure, she said to use "ga" ☝Impressive stuff Tomii!Your pronunciation is very good too.
I saw on that the titles of your pieces were:
「日本語が話しています」、「英語が話しています」
I think those should be:
「日本語を話しています」 and 「英語を話しています」
Unless some other native Japanese tells you otherwise!!

Maybe you didn't understand because it was in English, or because I said it too fast? Hmm, I don't know. all I remember is "...utada hikaru no Making Love desu." =)

J44xm san: Thank you! Yes, all your examples are clear for me to understand. Ah "gulp", that, I've seen before, used as an sfx in manga where a girl was about to drawn. ^^

No, she said "nihongo ga hanashite imasu." Yeah, but she told me today she made a mistake ^^ I always thought it was "wo" so it got me confused, but I'm back on track ^^

And yet, sad to say, I understood about only 50% of what you said, or maybe less, I'm afraid.
I could catch some "word" here and there when you spoke slowly, but I guessed most of the parts.
I'll need to keep listening to it over and over to understand it better...

no, no, i didn't say cue i said koo (the 9 year old girl). I knew I spoke to fast, but I spoke as I normally would... Well, it will make you understand normal speed English if you try your hardest to understand ^^ But, if you want, I post an English one speaking slower... just ask ^^

First off, about my question, thanks for the explanations, John-san and Glenn-san, I sometimes get totally lost in what ppl are talking about and feel so left out.
Now, Tomii-kun, thanks soo much for letting us hear your voice, yeah you do have a nice, mature, and deep voice! I think I could follow you when you were talking about what you did until the part you finished eating the macaroni cheese, but after that, there were several parts I could not get.
What I'm wondering the most is something that sounded like "ジェイリア or J area". To me, it sounded like you said your gf Vicky doesn't come to J area any more. In your first post in English also, you said "Hi everybody I'm Tomii from 'something that sounded like ~~J area'". Is that a name of a place or Jref forum??? Oh but later you said you had posted on something that sounded like J area to me, so it must be Jref, so what exactly did you call it?
And what was the language you were making up? I thought you said you were making up a language, but I cannot be sure. And what did you actually call the language? The language has 40 letters or so? I'm a bit interested.
And oh yeah, I checked your Myspace and your YouTube from your signature. Seems like you really love to talk about poop and fart, hahaha!
Thanks for the compliment on my English but it's really hard for me to pronounce words with the letter L or R such as "syllable".

Yes, I'm making up a language (I have a lot of free time ^^). Yes, it has 40 letters in the alphabet. The name of it is "Kyovantic".

I will post more in English, because I don't think I can post one in Japanese with saying things off the tp of my head! I guess I just need to increase my vocabulary ....

Aaah, okay, so you pronounced each letter individually! You know, I always pronounce it like Jeyref （ジェーレフ）, that's why my ears would not take it as this forum site even though I was guessing you were most likely referring to it!

By the way, Tomii, I find the way you say JRef a bit strange. It sounded to me like ジェーリエフ, whereas I pronounce it like Kyoko (ジェーレフ). Of course, the katakana is only an approximation of the actual pronunciation, but it's hard to specifically show pronunciation without using IPA symbols.
