Microphones are pretty cheap, Glenn, if you're thinking of buying one. I bought a headphone/microphone coupled with a webcam for someting like 5,000 yen some time back. If you only want a mic, you could find one for cheaper than that without a problem, I'm sure!

There are also webcam/mikes or headphone/mikes or any other combo's you can stick in your USB port.

Methinks you have no choice but to go with the USB option, because I don't think that you can plug a mic into a headphone jack and have it work. (Actually I'm quite certain about that.)

USB hubs are pretty cheap, too, you know. Just get a small one, and you're talking about a couple hundred yen maybe.

I'm certain that you can find a USB hub for under a thousand yen. Go to a Yamada Denki or some place like that. They're have a whole wall full of them.

LOLI've talked on the Skype without mic once. I mean, only he talked and I answered him with keyboard, and I (and probably he also) felt so awkward. xD
(And I ended up deleting Skype itself from my laptop after all.)

Japanese guys, in general, have a higher tone of voice, lol, half-Japanese are hit-and-miss though, some (like Leon) have a lower voice, some (like myself) have a higher voice, hahaha
Haha, I'm saving every single penny I can get my hands on before I move! ごめん it'll be a while before I can put anything up

I think I would say "too many". I think "omanjuu" is uncountable, since it's Japanese, and Japanese doesn't have a plural. Like, you would say "I want three sushi" not "I want three sushis". It's the same, at least, that's how I would say it!

I saw that the titles of your pieces were:
「日本語が話しています」、「英語が話しています」
I think those should be:
「日本語を話しています」 and 「英語を話しています」
Unless some other native Japanese tells you otherwise!!

Just one pronunciation mistake I noticed is "Umare mashita", but other than that, you did good.
