I had this image tattooed in my forearm. It's supposed to say Love Eternal, Life eternal.

Is that written in Chinese?

Eternity 永遠(えいえん)
Life/Daily Life 生活(せいかつ)

永遠の愛、永遠の生活
Eternal Love, Eternal Life.

Something like that lol so your tattoo is close enough I suppose.

Further to Kirakira's comments, I'd like to add (just in case) that
生命 (meaning life) are two separate kanji, not one.

永 means long, like "eternal"
生命 does indeed mean life, although you're right, there's a number of different ways to say life with a number of different connotations.
愛 means love

I'd say that's good enough. I mean, it's not like it says something like "I like big men" or anything like that.

Hopefully the artist was skilled enough to accentuate the kanji in such a way that the natural stroke order and calligraphic pattern is intact. I'm not proficient enough to tell you how good the translation is (although at the literal, face-value level it would indeed seem accurate) but I can tell you that kanji stroke order is nearly as important to the appearance of the finished product as the meanings. Otherwise, kanji turns out in the same way that a child's writing in English sometimes appears.
