People that speaks more than 1 language

Ok. I need somebody's cooperation. I'm studing marketing/merchandising, and I was commitionated (is that the word?? )... to design the logo of my faculty. I suffered from an ideas rain and found myself trying to say Merchandising or Marketing Faculty in other languages.. now.. could somebody please help??? Any language..French, italian, german, cantonese, japanese (of course), hindu... anything!!!

Chinese: 經營, 營銷教職員
French: Vendant, Corps enseignant De Vente
German: Verkaufen, Marketing-Lehrkorper
Italian: Vendendo, Facolta Di Vendita
Japanese: 売買する、マーケティングの迫ﾍ

Please note: In the German word Lehrkorper the o has an ¨ on top of it, my pc has trouble to show EU fonts, and I don't want to download the software that has been suggested to me from the internet I am scarred of infections.

In the Italian word Facolta the last a has an ` on top of it.

By the way Cantonese is not a language it is a dialect, the writing is called Chinese characters or HanZi 漢字(Han 's writings). Mandarin is the language of the Chinese.

What exactly is a faculty in your school? If it is a university/college department:

Actually we use a lot of english terms in titles like "Ecole de Marketing et de communication" or "Ecole de commerce"
However, marketing and merchandising are more like courses than main subjects...
you have courses like "Merchadising de Mode" or "Merchandising visuel"
The actual translation (which I have never seen) for marketing would be "Mercatique". As for merchandising, there's no real translation but a mere definition...

As for cantonese well... it's the official language in Hong kong but a mere dialect in China

I tend to find many westerners like to refer Cantonese as a language but to many Chinese it is a dialect. Alright, I suppose.

Yes, just like the Taiwanese are calling their dialect a language now! But I still prefer to call them dialects, it's a habit. The one I typed is the traditional, as majority of the Chinese today still read the traditional, but when these older populations die the simplified form will take over.

In Italian is easy because many of these words are not translated:

Merchandising, refered to items you leave it in English
If you mean to "put something on sale" you use the word: commercializzazione

Marketing Faculty, becomes: "Facoltá di Marketing" but I think applies only if you mean the Uni Faculty or a course in general

I think cantonese is more like a dialect for the way they treat it in the movies, specially the old ones. I listen the: don't speak in cantonese! or Speak in cantonese! in ways they'd refer dialects, not languages. But I always thought taiwanese was a language... ☝

Well. perhaps there are just a few languages in the world and many many dialects. Spanish is spoken in many countries, but that doesnt mean we clearly understand each other, right?? is the dialects...

Food for thought: if Europe had remained one political entity through today, all those romance languages would almost certainly be considered dialects rather than separate languages, even if they were identical to what we do in fact have today.
