way to go rich, just don't be 2 friendly, cuz once they put u in the friends list is not too funnn, hope u get to be the boy toy we all wanna be one day 😊

I went out with her again last wednesday and we were carrying on like a couple of teenagers. At least I know she fancies me now!
She went home to Japan yesterday, so I now have to wait a month to see her again.
She wants me to stay in touch a lot in the meantime and has set me a little task; I smoke roll-ups, and on wednesday my lady friend rolled one and said I have to look after it until we are reunited.
She was asking me not to forget her, but I don't think she's got anything to worry about there - she is amazing!

That's cool.... 😍 I'm happy for you! *dances like this* --> 😄

Arigato!

Cheers Kinsy!

I feel I shouldn't post any more about this situation. I don't want to 'curse' it or something. I'll just explain my new 'user title',though.
Because I'm tall, she thinks I am like a cute Giraffe! Kawaii!!!

she's so fine...

Cheers to Void and Kirei!

I want to post her picture because I am so proud, but I don't think Unkle Frank would be able to take it!

Oh Franky, has she ever got the long black hair!

- all the best from Frank Jr.

If the age diffenrence is close it doen't matter either ways for men or women.
But if the couple are from two complete different generations , then excuse me !
I've known a 17 years old philippino boy who's married to a woman over 30 and was soon to have a kid (must be a father by now). I can't get myself to accept this atall (Especially that I felt some things for him 😌 ) I don't know how much they loved each other , but doesn't seem like love is the case ..

Lately I've known a Japanese who's girlfriend is 10 years older than him.But they broke up lately ...

wah I'm babeling a lot and can't seem to get a point outa my post 💫

Edit: oops ! I've posted randomnly and never noticed the thread took off somewhere .. sorry :p

I think I know what you mean, Suki-Yaki. :p I think age shouldn't make difference to a good relationship, but I still have the kind of feeling that if the generation is different, it is better not. I have an unwritten rule to myself, I never went out with any guy who is more than 16 years older than me (the other end of the spectrum it hasn't yet got to be an issue yet!).

2 of my relatives married women 12 years older than them. The age difference didn't seem to matter much. The issue of children should be discussed. So I think nothing of going out with younger guys, but not too much younger because I like mature men. Some never grown up (women too). There may be some issues, but they could probably be sorted out. Though I think I prefer guys my own age because we have alot of things in common. However I always felt a connection to William S. Burroughs, and you can have the same kind of mindset and beliefs and so on with people of different ages. I didn't relate much with the majority of my generation.

By the way, I just saw William S. Burroughs on a tv video - he cracks me up. For those not familiar with him, he's an obscure American comedian. He likes guns and cats. I like cats but not guns, except for target practice. Target practice with the guns, not the cats.

Oh Rich - that's great about the Japanese girl - it seems you really hit it off. I've only read this page so I'll have to back track and get the beginnings of your story. Good luck and let us know how it works out.

My husband was a year younger than me... he passed away this past january... live life to the fullest, you never know when your number will be called...

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss, anjusan. You give us a precious reminder.

Thank you, lastmagi and kirei na me, life goes on whether we want it to or not... and time is the great healer...

Did anyone else notice that there are two threads of this... isn't that odd... one in chit chat and one in love advice... ah my bad, got confused in member lounge...

Another Thought......

if the woman is married to an older (non-attentive) male and having a fling with a younger man; people might have less respect for her? I guess a relationship outside marriage by a woman is not as accepted as when carried on by a male? Maybe young people feel different about such things nowdays?

My wife is six years older than I. She keeps me on the straight and narrow, or as much as she can anyways. Really, I was attracted to her before I ever knew her age (she wouldn't tell me at first), and after seven years, we still get on well (well except for a few few spats we have like now).

Yay. Another older woman/younger man story. I like those.

Revenant, have I ever told you that I love your avatar?

Me too, but when i saw this the first time, i thought Revenant was a girl, and sometimes i still think that, just by seeing this photo... mm i have that with more people though... 😊

When I was 16, I thought that no woman would ever want me, that I was the ugliest guy in town, that I was weird and uncool and just incredibly lame. All my friends were getting action of all kinds and I wasn't.

About a month before I was moving from town, my friend and his brother took me to a college dance. Most of the people there looked exactly like high school kids, so I didn't think about being uncomfortable.

In fact, I totally wasn't thinking when I walked up to this rather fine-looking young woman that was talking to my friend and asked her to dance with me. It was a group thing, nothing special, and we just sort of stood in place and swayed to the music.

Another song came on, my friend joined the group (some kind of square dancing to a techno "Cotton-Eyed Joe") and I spotted that same woman sitting down with her friends. I held out my hand and asked her to dance. She accepted. Wasn't all that great, I kept bumping into other people, but she had a good time.

I excused myself and went to the bathroom. 15 minutes later, a slow song was playing and I went to find her. The second I was right behind her and asked her to dance, my friend came up and asked her first.

I was in shock. Couldn't believe my bro would play me. I could see her hesitate, and I got very flustered, and I just left. Walked outside. I didn't get to dance with her the way I wanted to for the rest of the night, and all I got was a passing "bye, Forest" before she went with her group to the parking lot.

I was told later that she had left my friend 30 seconds after I had left the room, looking for me. She couldn't find me and went back to him.

Trying to do right be me, my friend talked to her at a party the next day. Tried lying to her, saying I was in college, but the truth came out. She made this comment about how I looked way older than I was, can't remember it all. She was 22.

Looking back on it, it's doubtful I would have had a functional relationship with her. She was going to college, she was my friend's cousin (which I DEEPLY resented for a while, like what the hell) I was moving, less than a snowball's chance in a firepit that anything could have happened.

Yes it would have. Can't delude myself either. She was into me and I was into her and I couldn't stop thinking about her for three months. People who say that a dance is a form of lovemaking, they're absolutely right. I wish that I had been able to step up and say something, that I could have felt her body against mine, that I could have cradled her head into my shoulder.

What's my point. Um, cheers to all the "older women" in the lives of men. Without you, there'd be no poetry, no dreams, and certainly no experiences.

*raises a bottle of Pepsi in toast*

Just like most people (in this thread at least), I don't see a problem with older women and younger men. Don't see a problem the other way around either. My dad's 11 years older than my mom and there's no problems with that.

But have to say I can't imagine myself with anyone that much older and also not with someone younger... I just am not attracted to guys that are like over 5 or 6 years older or something (generalizing a bit here) and well younger guys... or even guys my age are often just kinda childish :) It has been said before and I can only agree with it. The guys in my class are ok (although several are in fact older) but when looking at my (younger) brothers and their friends... They are around 20 years old, but they are just so... well don't really have another word than childish.

But I guess in general it shouldn't have to matter. Also been said before, but everyone's different so it works for some and doens't work for others. But I really don't think anyone should make a fuss about age difference. That's between the people in the relationship.

Ps. My boyfriend is 4 years older than I am.

I don't know. Might work, might not. Every situation is different

Age difference should not matter much in a relationship. Who is older should also be of no consequence. The important thing in a relationship is how the partners interact with each other. They should treat each other with respect, with care.

I agree with what sl0thmachin3 said above.

This thread brings back some memories for me.
It has posts from last year when I'd just met my ladyfriend from Japan. Despite our efforts (largely mine) now it seems it's all over

However, I don't think the age gap was the reason.
I think the distance took it's toll as we spent so much time apart, and she has a young daughter and busy work schedule - I guess it was doomed.

I believe relationships between younger men and older women can and do often work out, although ours wasn't a huge gap (6 years)
She was my first older lady and the experience was a real eye-opener - although I had found older women attractive in the past.
Now I see things in a slightly different light as I'd always gone for younger women before

I would definately consider an older woman again.
