Old postcard with japanese Characters - need translation

Hi, I found this postcard among my father's things. He was in Japan between 1948 and 1950. Can anyone tell me what the characters mean and/or the location shown? Thanks.

Hello Kathy,
The writing is the location.
Joetsu-sen, Minakami onsen (the last two I'm not completely sure of, but the first five are correct)
上越線水上温泉
If I'm correct, it is a hot-spring northwest of Tokyo in Gunma Prefecture. Joetsu-sen refers to the train lain that services the city/area of Minakami.
