Hi all,

I've spent some time reading some last posts, and I've been surprised to find more-than-usual threads related to banning people, locking threads, etc...So I just thought: what could we discuss about which wouldn't lead to intern war? :-) Well, empty brain as is mine actually (my job asks too much from me, I'm sure of it!), I just got a look outside through the window, and saw the strange rainy grey clouds we have above Bruxelles actually. And a simple question then hit me: those clouds I see actually, will they be seen by you somedays, tomorrow or in the following days? Or do they die, as we humans do, when they reach and disappear behind the horizon?

Just a thought...

Careful. Mentioning Brussels might get this thread relegated to the Europe forum.

Clouds are in a constant state of change. They are changing before your eyes, and will no doubt be a considerably different shape within a matter of hours. They cannot die for they are not alive, and one person's arbitrary horizon has no bearing on them whatsoever.

:D

Clouds are a bunch of water drops aren't they, condensating and evaporating for centuries.. I'm pretty sure most of the waterdrops have been around the world..

By the way, I'm in Rotterdam, Holland, home to the biggest port of Europe, and it's raining here very badly!! We've just had the warmest July in 300 years with virtually no rain, and it looks like the rainy clouds are going to try to make up for the dry month!!😌

Not that it bothers me as I'm leaving for Japan tomorrow, mouhahaha!!🙂

Brussels always makes me think of sprouts... :liplick:

Reading those posts has made me feel all floaty and odd, thinking of all the atoms and molecules drifting around the world, reacting, changing from things into other things...

I can tell you where the clouds go. They line up and wait, somewhere a few miles from the city I am in, until 12:00 midday. Then they cluster over my head and rain for 2 hours. They then back off until 17:00, when they begin again to rain, clearing up when I go to bed.
Does that answer your question? :D

By the way, Mamoru-kun, it's nice to see you around again, as you haven't been here for a while, and I miss your posts when you are away! :p

Hehe, poor Kinsao >_< Soon in a theatre near you : "Waiting clouds" ! :p Here it rained also.

Clouds change all the time, but they're so far away we can't see them change ☝

I didnt think so.

Its been pissing down with rain all day here, until only recently, it seems were paying for our long hot dry period.

Who knows, Europe might end up with a dry season and a rainy season, hehe.

Think alike?

I watch the clouds alot to relax when I have my cat outdoors for her fresh air break. I was going to start a thread about how interesting clouds are, but figured people would think I was high on something. Since today is the the hottest of the summer, I'm hopeing for rain to break the heat.

Uncle Frank

😊

I was watching the clouds just a few days ago. It was around 3:30a.m. and I noticed a beautiful cloud just over a mountain nearby that looked as if it rose straight up. It almost looked like a plume of smoke from a fire, but it was absolutely huge and just sat there, even with all of the wind at the time, it just looked awesome.

On a cloud, maybe?
Sorry, I couldn't resist that one. 😆

Nice one Kinsao :-) And thank you. I missed you too...and I missed your avatars too! I like the way you change them from time to time, and I'm just wondering where you find them all...Would it be those clouds which bring them through your own window? :-)

By the way, the clouds changed tonight: this morning, it's just like a huge white blanket above this city. Will it rain today?

Clouds like everything else change, from the sea, to the sky throu the ground, our life is not much different from theirs

Cursore, would you mean that when we see thow clouds merging for exemple, we could say that they are falling in love (or making love, depending on your H-level ;-))?

I like that idea; when it's a cloudy day I will no longer feel depressed, but look up at the sky and think about sex. :-)

Actually it's cloudy here today........ :D
The weather forecast was for sun, but it's not here. 😭
But actually, I like the clouds... I remember in 1996 there was a heatwave in the August, and it was very hot, and eventually I got bored waking up each day and seeing the same, blue sky with no clouds. :(

@ Mamoru-kun: thank you 🙂 ... and I make my avatars myself, just resizing a picture to fit the 100 pixels requirement. My current avatar is from a recent magazine photoshoot. :-)

That is a very strong answer! A "why not" open doors to a wide space of possibilities...Asking more questions would almost become irrelevant from that point of view. Does it mean that the primary question -is- the answer by itself, or that not only one answer would be enough to display what is hidden behind the question???

(I should stop smoking the carpet...)

Nice pics Rudel ! I'll add another one :-)

Clouds above Finland last year :)

Btw, sorry for messing up the layout. 🙇‍♂️

Woah, those are gorgeous pictures!
plenty of cloud-porn before bedtime... :giggle:
