I am absolutely amazed with Nintendo. They have the biggest pair of brass b**** of all time for being so innovative. Here is the link from igns' website for an indepth look.

Yeah right, nice try. There has been a million threads of fake controllers. If your serious, well then W.T.F??!

interesting, seems like it has some potential, but will this be truly 'revolution'ary, or will it fall short like other experimental controller systems.

I would personnaly like to understand how, in such a controller, you'll hit the big 'A' button? With the tumb of your right hand (the one which is usually working on the direction pad (if your're right handed)), or with the left hand, which will just come and bother your right hand already working hard to control the game?

What is there to understand? You'll hit the button In the same way you hit any buttons on a remote control. And your right thumb almost never controls the direction pad - it's always a button basher. Check any conventional two-handed game controller if you want proof. Why would your left hand need to come over and 'bother' the right hand? Do you need two hands to use a tv remote control?

Well, in my own PS2 console, I of course control (as everyone on that conole base controlers) with the left hand, and push buttons with the right hand. But in this new one, there is no place for the two hands in the same time. How would the hand using the controller push the button while controling the mouvements? Except if the mouvement wouldn't be controlled with the tumb, but with another finger? In which case I would feel it less natural...

the controler has some kind of sensors on both sides, so when you move it, you control the action! think of some sword games ( no joke) move left, your sword goes left, etc.

TOKYO, Sept. 16, 2005 窶 Every gamer who plays. Every one who used to play. Even those who have yet to play, Nintendo is your bet.

As the cornerstone of his speech today at the Tokyo Game Show窶冱 annual event, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata elaborated on the theme of the company窶冱 aim and proven ability to broaden the population of video game players. Two shining examples highlighted in his keynote include the smash-hit sales of the highly innovative Nintendogs game for the portable Nintendo DS system, and the new controller that will be central to the company窶冱 upcoming console system, code-named Revolution.

Nintendo breaks with more than 20 years of video game history by abandoning the traditional controller held with two hands and introducing an all-new freehand-style unit held with one hand.

The intuitive, pioneering interface allows players to run, jump, spin, slide, shoot, steer, accelerate, bank, dive, kick, throw and score in a way never experienced in the history of gaming.

窶弋he feeling is so natural and real, as soon as players use the controller, their minds will spin with the possibilities of how this will change gaming as we know it today,窶 explains Satoru Iwata, Nintendo president. 窶弋his is an extremely exciting innovation 窶 one that will thrill current players and entice new ones.窶

When picked up and pointed at the screen, the controller gives a lightning-quick element of interaction, sensing motion, depth, positioning and targeting dictated by movement of the controller itself.

The controller also allows for a variety of expansions, including a 窶從unchuk窶 style analog unit offering the enhanced game-play control hard-core gamers demand.

The response from all major publishers worldwide has been extremely positive. Beyond its other innovations, the new controller gives third parties flexibility, allowing them the option to use as many or as few of the controller features as they desire. In addition, incorporated technology will easily allow games from the NES, SNES, N64 and Nintendo GameCube generations to be controlled in familiar fashion.

Nintendogs for the DS, a virtual and sophisticated dogfest, has taken the gaming world by storm, already selling more than 1.5 million units in Japan and North America combined. The game, just as Iwata believes the Revolution controller will do, is exciting current game players and attracting hordes of new consumers into the playing world.

here you go 🙂

Hoooo, dank u wel Dutch-san! I missed that point...In that case, well, I wonder now what will be my spare money for. Untill today, it was decided for the PS3, but now, I'm hesitating ;-)

This will be great for first person shooters, now i can shot an enemy's crotch 2.3 seconds faster now!!!

I can't believe how crap this thing is! It is gimmick over substance. It reminds me of the CDi controller! You would probably enjoy the novelty of waving the thing around for five minutes, but then you take someone's eye out and it goes in the back of the drawer! I hate it! I like to chill out and veg on the sofa holding the controller in both hands resting on my legs. If I want to burn some calories I will go for a walk or jump on the exercise bike, not wave a console contoller in the air like an idiot!

Sorry for the rant, but I really don't like it!

They said it was going to be unlike any other game controller, and it certainly it that. It may play better than it looks, but it looks like the control will be clumsy as hell. But I love Nintendo, so i hope it's awsome.

I hope it doesnt come with virtual pain T___________T

It looks pretty stupid. :P They make it sound like the two pieces are seperate, but they're actually attached to each other... :\ so it's really not that diferent from a normal controller, except the buttons on the right piece are frickin far aprt which will make it harder to hit then....

Anyone want some carpal tunnel? :-)

its a pretty nice looking yeah, but holding it would be soo stupid, im mean for the tilting stuff and things alike to actually work you'd need to sit in a static postition for them to corellate to the goings on that'll be on the screen.

but it is something new, yet its just a controller cut in half and then connect by a big wire at the bottom, which i bet will cause a few mistake when its accidentally pulled out a lot.

I looked up the conroller on the unveiling day.
I must say I was suprised.
But, as it's Nintendo, we can expect good things.
They allways come through.

PS, just a personal thought, but you DO all realise that the gamecube controller can still be attached to the revolution, so mayhaps some future games will just use that.
I mean, It's not like the X360's (name?) or the PS3's controllers are different AT ALL to their previous ones. I don't actually see why the controllers have to be changed on those, except to please the eye. they might as well use the old ones, everyones used to them.
