New guy from Okinawa

I've been in Okinawa now about 6 months, I'm in the US Air Force, and will be stationed here for 3 years. I absolutely love it here though, and I would like to stay forever.

I'm originally from Seattle, WA where we had a fairly large Asian population, and I've always been naturally attracted to Japanese girls. I'm white, but I don't like white girls for some reason, haha.

I've been studying Japanese since the first week I got here, been going to classes on base, as well as having my girlfriend tutor me. I've got Kana down, and am fairly good with conversational Japanese, but I still know less than 100 Kanji. My priority has been to learn conversational Japanese first.

Anyone else here in Okinawa? I live in Sunabe (Chatan) near the seawall if anyone wants to get together for a drink or something. I'm always looking to meet new friends.
