Means prosperity, but it is usually combined with other kanji to form whole words: prosperity, honor, nutrition. You don't see it by itself unless you are referring to a shopping area in the city of Nagoya, or if you have some vague notion that a random kanji on your neck makes a statement about your individuality.
Nearly all kanji are Chinese in origin. What I have said above applies for Japanese. Maybe in Chinese it has some awesome meaning by itself.
