Need some others opinons on living on my own

I want a Japanese tutor at least once a week. This is $200 a month....
lol...
Anyway, I currently stay at a place for $300 minus food. In other words everything is paid except my own expenses and food. This is an awsome deal for the area im in. Except, i sleep in the living room. i've gotten a total of 8 hrs between the 3 days.
Then there is other places out there that i can get for $650-$800 a month for a single bedroom or studio. This isn't new york or anything. Its phoenix,az. This cost is just rent.... So, what can i do? am i screwed? ☝

Your money for Japanese studies would probably be better spent taking a class at some nearby college than on a tutor.

Expenses absent the context provided by income tells us nothing. Some folks will think your expenses exorbitant; some will think them trivial. The only way to understand them is to know how much you make. (And, no, I'm not asking how much you make).

expenses are minor. with rent plus electricity would kill my paycheck down to 200-100 a month extra, if it was at 800 a month.

And you really think so on, the Japanese class? Last time i took it in college i bombed horribly. lol.

I also didn't like the attention of 30+ people, being brought to me.

Studying Japanese is one thing. Working up the nerve to actually open one's mouth and attempt to use it is another thing altogether. The attention of the folks in class would probably be good preparation.

If I remember correctly, you're staying in an apartment with two other roomates. This, plus sleeping in the living room, are likely putting a pinch on your personal zone. This could, depending on a number of factors, lead to a level of stress which could be said to be unhealthy. It's just that I don't know that much about you to really make any comments.

I will only say, that trying some other means, such as Mike has suggested, would definitely be superior to trying to hire a private tutor in Japanese. If you were living in the Tucson area, rather than Phoenix, I think you'd have more luck there--the university as well as one of our good Japanese speaking members also lives in that area.

Anyway, keep on thinking, and look for ways to improve yourself and your living conditions. Again, there may be no rush. . . you've still got the potential time !! Do your best !! がんばってください！ MM

thanks. Well, my living situation is 3 guys in a 1 bedroom condo and im not one to complain. But, i don't have the luxury of sleep. Wait; Sleep? a luxury?

Well, i found a Japanese native born and spoken. This is who the tutor is. But, i hear you on improving myself and living conditions. If i ever want to move to Japan i would need something and being bilingual isn't that only thing i need.

LOL MIKE !! I can just picture the expression you would hold on your face, having said the words !! INDEED a good laugh !!!

But wow. . . I have heard the same thing about myself...of course in certain contexts or subject matter, but. . . I do know that at times, I can get too involved in sentences which are quite loaded with enough information so as to have no room left for qualifying or quantifying questions, making them very heavy and quite unreadable. Anyway. . . take things in stride, on step at a time, and plan as well as you can. (all the while keeping in mind that 'the best laid plans of mice and men, often go astray'--or something like that.
