Hey I've been looking all over for a program that can convert my avi files to dvd files.
This is because I have recently found all the episodes for a j-dorama, but in .avi format, and my dvd player(the one on my tv) isnt compatible with this (but are compatible with burned dvds).
I already have a burning program and a dvd burner. I only need a program that can convert the files though if they also burn them aswell that wouldnt be a problem 👍

Sadly I have experienced that the only programs available costs a fortune.

So does any of you know a a free program, and where to download? links would be more than welcome

If you have a dvd burner it should have come with DVD converting programs. I use Nero to convert AVI to DVD-VOB files.
Damn it takes along time.

I use Nero 5.5.9.14
I didn't notice any converting program in that.. How does this work?, it would alot easier to use than what Rocklee gave me a link for. I'm still trying that one out, but damn thats alot of work to convert them that way. if it doesn't work I'll guess I try out the Nero

My advice is to download Nero 7 and a keygen, then tsunami filter pack. then when you want to burn your avi files onto a DVD you simply run the Nero DVD movie application and drag and drop your movies and Nero does the rest. If your having problems getting a hold of nero, pm me

yeah what he just said 👍

Funny thing is.. I have Nero... I never really thought that the Nero vision express was on the cd aswell :D
So I have finally made it work to2ly.
my only problem is, when I choose which files to add it says around 3.8gb, but when the encoding is done and all suddenly the file is 4.78gb which is 80mb to much to fit in on my disc. Is there a problem solver for this or do I simply need to put smaller files on the disc (this was two episodes one of 450mb and the other was 350mb, and when I choosed them it estimated the size to 3.8bg but was after the encoding and all 4.78gb big).
Can I use DVDshirnk for this?, I will look into it myself this evening, but knowing what to do beforehand is always better.
So thank you for the suggestion Damicci, it really saved my day :D

Edit: lol, the second time I encoded it it was retained at the 3.8gb so no problem :D, Im so happy

Have you thought about picking up a DivX compatible TV-top player? I can get them here in Japan for around 8000yen and they play anything.

The playback quality is fine. I've never managed to get better results converting avi to DVD, even using something top-drawer such as Procoder.
