I went to Japan a few years ago and I had a really good small-cake sort of confectionery.
I don't exactly remember the area (since I visited a lot), but I believe I was near a shrine/temple or a hot spring..
Although it was around the size of a standard manju, i don't believe it was one because it wasn't sticky/gooey, plus it had NO filling in it. It had the consistency of a pound cake (sort of) and it had a glaze on top of it. The colour of the glaze was white, and the inside was also white. I believe this is a traditional dessert because of the area I was in and the way their products were being advertised.
Is there anyone who might have some idea as to what this was? It was delicious and I don't want to go through life not tasting it again! Thanks <3
