Need advice with a sentence

Hello everyone,

I need your advice concerning the translation of the following sentence:
Ikura Pocky wo tabete mo genkai ga aru.

I've come up with "There's a limit to how much Pocky I can eat."
Do you think that's a correct rendering? I'm a bit confused about the first part. "Ikura Pocky wo tabete mo" seems to mean "However much Pocky I eat." How does that fit in with the latter part "genkai ga aru" (there's a limit)?

I'm not sure if that sentence makes sense. I'd have translated the first part as "no matter how much Pocky I eat" - but I agree with you in that your English is on the right track but there's something missing in the Japanese. Hmm... Is there more context that you can provide? Where you found the sentence?

A slight twist on Carabus' translation, it could also be more in the vein of "However much Pocky I eat, there's still a limit to what is possible." Something is still missing in the Japanese, though.

いくら食べても一日で出来ることに限界がある！

Thank you very much for the quick responses. Unfortunately, there's not much context I can give. That sentence was just a random line from a talk between girls. One brags about how much snack (especially Pocky) she eats per day, and the other girl answers with the sentence in question. Your inputs make me confident that I'm on the right track though.

Heh, when I first read the sentence I thought it said いくらポーキを食べても、元気がある.

I was thinking, "no matter how much Pocky I eat, I'm still healthy." Man, I hate ローマ字.

I think that makes my guess more likely.
