Need a word or phrase translated?

It's 保育園 since the subject is the same as the one of 作られた.

It literally means "I end/terminate you!" in a very awkward way. Ask him if it's really what he's supposed to mean.

How to correctly say ' you should consider adopting a cat from the shelter' ? I'm a bit confused with that one.

あなたは猫を採用することを検討する必要があります. This is how I translated it but im not sure.

It means you employ a cat as a position. Use 引き取る for "to adopt" instead.

Doing another comic translation project, and I can't seem to find a natural way to translate this line:
"温泉の効能とかわかったりするのか?"
Context: They're both in a hot springs, and the character (slightly slow/dumb) who's speaking is talking to another character who is a "Water Seraph"/can control the element.
The use of "効能" and "わかったりする"(I'd never seen this conjugation before) are really the only parts that I can't seem to get right. I could guess, but I'd rather make sure from someone who knows more than me!

May I ask your guess?
Ah, perhaps something like this?:
"Does that mean you know how to control the hot springs or something?"
OR is he asking the water seraph if he can "understand" the hot springs water? Or even something else?
The word "効能"/"efficacy" throws me off considering it's hardly used in natural English, and from searching the Japanese meaning it seems it can mean words such as effect/efficacy/virtue/benefit/ect, out of which I can't figure out which would be the best choice.

Different hot springs are said to be beneficial in treating or preventing various ailments or conditions. If you don't know that then it would be very hard to correctly grasp the sentence.

Ahh, I have heard of that actually, that makes sense! And from what I gather the seraph does indeed possess healing powers, so it adds up.
So, does that mean he's asking the seraph if he knows that there are 'benefits' in the water? Or maybe if he can MAKE the hot springs have benefits?

The speaker is asking if the seraph can know the specific beneficial effects gained by taking each hot spring, for instance the one they are taking now is good for skin or like that. He's not asking whether the hot spring has a beneficial effect or not, or whether the seraph can add it or not, either.
As for たりする, it's from an expression ~たり…たりする which is used to enumerate verbs, thus, とか and たりする both show that 温泉の効能がわかること "being able to know the efficacy of (taking) the hot spring" is an example of water seraph's ability, as you translated "or something".

I understand! Thank you so so much for your help and for explaining so kindly!

What is 女子プロでもやり?

You're mis-parsing it. That's やりな (short version of やりなさい). The first instance of やる in やりたきゃ should have been a hint.

Hey guys! I'm new to the forum. I work in seattle on the Link light rail, for Sound Transit as a Fare Enforcement officer. I oftentimes run into people whose first language is Japanese. When their English is weak I don't have many ways to communicate with them other than a Google translator app on my handheld. I don' know how much of what I'm putting into the app is actually translating into something they can understand, as I know is often the case people will just smile and now even if they don't completely understand.
I'm trying to say, something to the effect of "tap your orca card on the yellow poles, before you enter the train, and after you exit".
Let me know if I need to clarify anything. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys.
PS. (Let me know if there is a more appropriate thread to post this in)
Sam

Is that in case you already explain where the yellow poles are?

The yellow poles scan their orca card and it's how they pay for their train ride. The poles are in different places at each of the 15 stations. They normally don't know exactly how to use it, which is what I'm trying to tell them.

So, they might not know where the readers are, right?

各駅に黄色のオルカカードリーダーが設置してありますので、電車に乗る前と下りた後、カードでリーダーに触れて読み込ませてください。

A quick google search in Japanese says that some Japanese travelers don't realize that they need to tap it again also after they exit.

Correct. But I show them a picture, and the readers aren't hard to find at the stations. I hate it when people don't understand the system so I try and explain and educate as much as possible.
And Thank you!

I see. Then, the following version is more appropriate when explaining with showing a picture of the reader. (I also changed a kanji into the more common one (下りる --> 降りる).)

各駅にこのような黄色のオルカカードリーダーが設置してありますので、電車に乗る前と降りた後、カードでリーダーに触れて読み込ませてください。

Hi guys I would like to ask what does 初期化済ですが mean ?
I have translated and it said initialized, but what does that exactly mean, does it mean it can be turned on with the screen, or he has set it up ?
I want to buy a 3ds LL from japan and this is the description the seller has given
初期化済ですが、細かな動作確認は行っていませんので、ジャンク扱いとして出品させて
Would really appreciate if someone could confirm for me what it means

初期化済ですが、細かな動作確認は行っていませんので、ジャンク扱いとして出品させて
The device has been reset to default factory settings, although the seller didn't carry out a thorough check of all the functions. The reason for selling - getting rid of junk.
