Yes, it was advice I suppose
What is the order of the mails? Who is the writer of each line? What is the whole conversation? For instance, it's obvious you had said something before she replied What is it?Alright, then could you tell me what these next few bits of the conversation mean then? I would really appreciate it.
He is her dad. If the topic she is talking about now is her child (e.g. この子の名前は梶井太郎。 , 父親 means "the child's dad", i.e., "her husband", but the topic is herself, so it means "her dad".For this sentence:
"私は梶井息吹 こっちは父親の五次郎"
I know that it translates to "I'm Kajii Ibuki, here's my father(?), Gojirou"
I'm not sure whether 父親 means dad as in biologically, or a husband.
The person saying this sentence is a pregnant women.
Well done. Some friends asked me to translate some Yu-Gi-Oh card. Good practice I say so I attempted.
Effect
Every time this card deals battle damage to the opposing player, the card's type (monster magic, trap) will be declared. The opponent will choose one card of that type from the deck and send it to the graveyard.
Furthermore, in the event that this card is destroyed by the opponent's effect and gets sent to the graveyard, on the next turn of your standby phase, a special summon will be called to the upper field."
I know nothing about the actual card game, so something may be off. But they could probably figure out those kind of mistakes so I just want to know if it sounds about right in general. Got to be sure. Thanks.
Also a question:
1. What exactly is "破壊され..." I think I have seen the "masu stem" used to continue sentences before but why might that be different to されて...and the te form which I'm sure does the same thing.
2. I know "宣言する" is not passive although I translated it as such because I do not know who is meant to be declaring and whos card is meant to be "the card." I think this would be obvious if you know the rules of the game and I'm not sure whether it's me being mistaken or just context.
How do you say "That in itself", for example "You putting on an angry face, that in itself is cute"
The latter is close, but that's the last half of a sentence, not a complete sentence. The preceding clause, i.e., what you thought the quoted sentence is actually the first half of the sentence.
Quotation
You said quotation or something, right?
