Need a word or phrase translated?

パーティ here probably refers to a political party, or faction. You have the correct translation for 進行する

私も妹にしてくれないかしら
having a hard time deciphering this
shite kure usually means to make right, I too wonder if I can't make her my younger syster?

Pay attention to the giving verbs. You know which direction くれる implies, right?

かわされるのは仕方ない
what verb is that from? the kawasareru

Passive form of かわす.

what do you mean by direction :?

くれる is 'someone does for me' or 'someone gives me'.
あげる is 'I do for someone' or 'I give to someone'.

I'm not sure what the sentence in question means though.
If it were 私も妹にさせてくれないかしら it would clearly be 'I wonder if (she) will let me be (her) little sister too'.
I feel like it means 'I wonder if (she) will make me (her) little sister too', but I can imagine there are contexts where it means something else.
(I put 'she' and 'her' in parentheses because we don't know from this sentence the gender of the doer.)

にする does mean 'to make into' or 'to treat as', but くれ is from くれる and is a separate grammatical nuance in the sentence.

Yes, this (or "treat as", as you pointed out). What other possible interpretations were you thinking of?
I don't have one in particular, I just have an uneasy feeling that not all the participants are pinned down as firmly in the orignal してくれ version, but I may be wrong about that. The more I think about it the more I think there's no room for there to be a third actor besides 私 and くれる人. Who is doing the treating and to whom all seem firmly determined. I think it was just an uneasy feeling because I don't know anything about くれる人.

Edit: Or possibly くれる人 could be making 私 into some 3rd person's little sister? Seems like an odd scenario, though, I think I'm worrying at nothing.

The context is two siblings on a bus are fighting and one off the ladies sitting down say this. And ok thanks you confirmed my thoughts

なっちゃいけない is a negative or positive? As in "must not" or "must " do something?
好きになっちゃいけない
~ちゃいけない: mustn't
~なくちゃいけない: must

Maybe you are confusing なちゃ with なちゃ?

かわされるのは仕方ない
what verb is that from? the kawasareru
In addition to Glenn-san's, the causative passive of かう is also possible. In conclusion, 買わされる, 飼わされる, 交わされる and 躱される are all possible. (The last one is usually written in hiragana. I used kanji just to distinguish it from the rest.)

I also have a question regarding the sentence below.
おれの知らないところでいろいろとやっているようだな

Does the translation mean: "Lots of things were done in a place I did not know." ?
For some reason, the use of やっている here gives me the impression that it was done 'behind his back'.
おれの知らないところ means more likely they(the addresse or third person) have been doing it in the way the speaker doesn't notice/realize. So, "behind my back" is a good translation.

I have another q too

実行委員になって、パーティを進行させてください

I don't get what shinkou means here. It means "to advance" or "too progress". Kinda weird
パーティ never refers to an organaization such like political party in Japanese (well, at least as a single word, i.e., except compound words such like サード・パーティ). 進行する means "to conduct / proceed" here.
The example sentence is ambiguous. Two different interpretations are possible.

Actually the meaning for shinkou suru here is "to run" ( I finally found it in the english vocab book accompanied with the textbook) this seems to make alot of sense here. I guess to conduct and proceed are pretty similar though.

I have a question about job related Japanese. How would you say, "The business is not doing so well lately?" and how would you say, "this job might be a good fit for you at this time"?

There are a myriad of ways to say that business isn't doing so well I'm sure; here's the one I thought of first:

最近の事業はあまりよくありません。

Same for the second one. My first thought:

この仕事は今のあなたに合っているかもしれません。

雨をしのげそうな廃屋を見つけ

is giving me trouble. i can't figure out what is going on between ame and haioku. any help would be great.

しのぐ【凌ぐ】
2 〔防ぐ〕keep off [out]; 〔かろうじて免れる〕stave off

この掘っ立て小屋ではとても雨風をしのげない
This rickety hut will not protect [shelter] us from the weather.

彼らは海亀の卵を食べて飢えをしのいだ
They ate turtles' eggs to stave off starvation.

Have you learned the suffix ~そう?

I would see this as

The dilapidated building which looked like it could fend off rain

I'm havinbg trouble relating the を見つけ though? since its to find, does it mean that someone found this?

Right. That's not a complete sentence, but just a clause.

(the subject) found / has found it, and...

I did but I couldn't find shinogu anywhere so it was throwing me off and I started making it more complicated than I needed to. It's a bad habit of mine.

思い出してね、私たちの欠片.。。。

Is this supposed to be deep or something? When I saw kakera before it meant fragments and I can't find any other definitions.

What is "Our fragments" supposed to mean, or is this like some metaphorical implication?

かけるが私が救う = I will save kakeru or kakeru will save me ( I think its the latter since I Think が markers the subject kakeru)

そこに書いてあるのは、これからなほに起こる出来事と、そのときに取ってほしい行動
I dont know what this is trying to say. Who is the subject , naho or kakeru and what is 取る mean here, I am familiar with to take steal, and the other dictionary results dont make sense to me since 行動 mean "to carry out"

"At that time~~~"

What's the context?

かけるが私が救う = I will save kakeru or kakeru will save me ( I think its the latter since I Think が markers the subject kakeru)
かけるが私が救う doesn't make sense. It should be かける私が救う or かけるが私救う.

そのときになほに取ってほしい行動 makes more sense? That's not a sentence but a noun clause (or, the predicative of a noun sentence where the copula is omitted).
行動 is not a verb but a noun, meaning "an action".
そのときに取ってほしい modifies 行動. 行動を取る is a set phrase. 取ってほしい is from this phrase.
The subject of 取ってほしい is the person who wrote it. The doer of the action "taking an action" is Naho.

sorry its かけるは私が救う
so that means "I" am the subject right?

It still sounds quite odd to me, according to the dictionary it means "to take action"

"At that time I want Naho to take action"
?

How do you say "depending on"... in Japanese. For example, "Depending on your grade this semester, this will determine which class you will be placed into next semester", I want to know the most common way to say it. Could it be 次の学期のプレスメントはこの学期の成績いかんだ。

かけるは私が救う

"I" is the subject, yes.

そこに書いてあるのは、これからなほに起こる出来事と、そのときに取ってほしい行動

Here I actually thought "you" was the doer of 取る. At any rate, 取って欲しい行動 is "action(s) I want [person] to take."

によって

来学期のプレースメントは今学期の成績によるものです。
来学期のプレースメントは今学期の成績によってです。
来学期のプレースメントは今学期の成績次第です。

I think all three are acceptable.

There are these two sentences I'm not too sure about

1. A friend congratulates his friend after he ties with someone in a kendo match.
「やるな」
双方とも、という意味で、武雄はそれを察してかぶりを振った。

Does 双方とも、という意味で, mean that the comment could be directed towards both parties(Takeo and the person he fought with)
or does it mean Takeo felt the other party was more deserving of the praise?

2. 上機嫌となると、すぐに他人をも持ち上げにかかるとうがそっくりだ。
Does the highlighted portion mean "placed at the same level as someone else"?
