Um, hello there. So, I'm turning 21 soon and I've decided to get a tattoo in honor of a friend that passed away. The phrase I need translated into Japanese is "Life is beautiful." I'd like to get it written vertically down my arm. Nothing fancy, nothing extravagant. Just the characters written in thin, plain font down my arm.
I've checked it out on google translator but... I'm not gonna rely on a machine to translate something that'll be printed on my body for the rest of my life. So I was hoping someone might help me out?
I'd really appreciate it <3
Edit: So I took a look at the thread about Kanji tattoos. I just want to make clear that this is not something I decided on a whim, nor is it for cosmetic purposes. I've had my heart set on this for almost a year now, and I want these words to be a part of my body not only to honor my friend but to give me strength. I still get really upset when I think about her passing and I want these words there to remind me that even when life seems terrible it's still beautiful and worth living.
If there is a more artistic way of saying "Life is beautiful" that would be more fitting for a tattoo, I'd be open to those suggestions as well. I've read that in Japanese culture it's more common to get Hanzi tattoos, so perhaps that would be a better choice than having it written in Kanji, which is apparently only common among Westerners. Although I'd be lying if I said my heart wasn't set on getting it written in Japanese.
