It's the same usage as the one in here.痛みを越えた数だけ優しさがわかる
I've spent a great deal of time trying to figure out on my own the entire meaning of this sentence. Yet once again I'm not able to fully understand how it all fits together.
痛みを越えた [Overcome pain] 数だけ [only the number of times] 優しさがわかる [I understand/know the kindness/tenderness]
What I believe to be the problem here for me is how "Dake" ties the sentence together. I may be misunderstanding a word which could be throwing me off. If I could have anyone's help shedding some light on this I would very much be in debt to you. Thank you so much.:
