アンケートにご協力ありがとうございました!

Everything from 7 on down I'm pretty much guessing at, relying on old memories. By the way, although I put it in there, I don't really think you can ask what someone else's reason for recommending a restaurant was. You probably can't really get away with that in English, either. Can't wait to see how I did (hope I avoided being too rude). heheh 😌

Uwaah~ ! ありがとうございます! Your guesses are better than mine, lol. And I agree, even in English, asking "why did x recommend this restaurant to you?" is strange, but... I didn't pick it 😌

If this is addressed to the teacher, all you have to say is "Thanks to you, I'm making progress little by little" or something. Similar to English. :) Sorry if I don't have time for the Japanese. Maybe someone can translate.

That does sound a lot less awkward than what I was thinking! Haha, maybe my English isn't strong enough for me to learn another language yet 😊

But I'm not entirely sure how I would say that in Japanese either. :?

Based on my understanding of Japanese, the proper response to her praise is modesty. So, it would be something to the effect of, 「先生のおかげで...I am able to make progress.」 (Sorry, I don't know how to say the latter party myself! Lol)

Is it REALLY う? I suppose it would be う. ;)
[遣うと人] は日本語になっていませんね。

しかし、私のボーイフレンドは、それがtsukauではなく、yaru だと言いました。
:D

日本語で何と発音しますか? 😊

明らかに「やる」じゃありません。何故なら、送り仮名が違うからですね。

彼は活用を単に間違って記憶したようです。

しかし日本人としてそれは面白い間違いですね。:p

「遣う」ですが、どういう意味で使うかな?

Hi!
I have decided to read manga to learn more Japanese. So the first sentence I try to read is this あーあ!詰めが甘かったな!You read it like this: "Tsume ga umakatta na!", right?
After a lot of time trying to decode it (find kanji, dictionary, translator) from the scan, I think it means this: A-a! The filling is sweet!
But it doesn't fit the context at all. So I think I must got something wrong. Maybe it's slang or something?
The manga's name is Akumu no Elevator.

The page where the sentence is from is the page that is immediately after the last page of the scanlated chapter. Sorry for the inconvenience because I don't have enough posts to be able to use url tag.

Thank you very much for your help!

(イ) 人形・動物などを自分の意図どおりに動かす。あやつる。《遣》

猿を―・う

蛇を―・う

文楽の人形を―・う

「現代仮名遣い」なんかにも使われますね。「遣わす」の形で使うことのほうが今は多いかもしれません。(「派遣」の「遣」の用法ですね。:)

詰めが甘い[Tsume ga amai] is a set phrase, and not a slang.

They are not acceptable way of writing traditional hanzi under normal situations, however considering it is for artistic purpose, variations are not uncommon in Chinese culture. Strokes are connected together, sometimes omitted etc.

It's the same also in Japanese kanji. 行書, 草書, 隷書, 篆書 are quite different from 楷書, of course as you know. But there are some rules to connect/omit strokes, aren't they?(The writer even add an unnecessary dot on the upper-right side in 無, as same as in 法.) I suppose the writer is not familiar with Chinese characters.

Hey, I was hoping someone could help with me this partial sentence.

XXXXXは、超音波診断の主流である白黒画像表示機能に絞り込み、導入しやすい価格を実現し

I think that I get that "白黒画像表示機能に絞り込み" is talking about the ability to refine black and white images.

I guess that "超音波診断の主流である" is talking about the mainstream of ultrasonic wave diagnosis.

But I don't really get the connection between "白黒画像表示機能に絞り込み" and "超音波診断の主流である". Does anyone have an idea how this might be put into English?

Also, I'm a little unsure about this bit "導入しやすい価格を実現し". Is it talking about achieving / realizing affordability?

Thanks for any help with these questions

"They limited their production (I'm assuming) to the main type of ultrasonic wave diagnosis, the black and white display, and (want to? Did? Will? Can't tell without the rest) make it at a price that will be easy to introduce..."

That's a hard one without knowing much about what's being talked about and not having too much context. I hope that helps you put it together better.

Thanks for the reply. I don't know if it changes anything, but the full sentence is:

XXXXXは、超音波診断の主流である白黒画像表示機能に絞り込み、導入しやすい価格を実現しつつ、上位機種のカラー超音波診断装置と同レベルの画質を保持し、使いやすい操作盤、デザインにより操作性を高めている。

I guess the second half is talking about maintaining the same level of quality as color ultrasound machines, that its control panel is easy to use and the design has enhanced operability.

Yeah, "while realizing an easy-to-introduce price, they limited themselves to a black and white image display function, the main style of ultrasonic wave diagnosis, maintained the same level of picture quality of the (mirror? There are some letters that should be in there) ultrasonic wave diagnosis devices, while improving the usability of the user interface panel through better design" or something like that I think is close, although I still don't really know enough about the subject to give a good, accurate translation. I also kept this fairly word-for-word.

One thing that I don't completely get (and may have translated wrong, as a result), is the 使いやすい操作盤、デザインにより操作性を高めている section. I think it's saying that they used design or improved the design of the user interface to increase usability. But then there's that 使いやすい there that kind of throws it off. Maybe it's that they created a user-friendly (or easy-to-use) control panel by improving the usability (or controlability) through its design? Actually that may be the closest I've come on that one. I'll leave it up for discussion.

That would be "color". ;)

That's more likely 使いやすい操作盤デザインにより操作性を高めている or "and improved the usability through their user-friendly control panel and design".

Both of those make total sense. :D

Couple of things:
1) I can't believe "color" didn't even occur to me, with respect to all the talk about black and white.
2) Commas (or, I suppose, テン, really) throw me off at times, as I just made clear to everyone.
