Need a word or phrase translated?

Sorry but it does not look like a kanji or two, and the first one does not look like ツ刃. (Direction of the third stroke is wrong.)

At least to me the picture looks like (1) something that someone who has no knowledge of kanji tried to write kanji but failed, or (2) a letter or two from a language unknown to me...:?

I see I see.. I feel maybe the writer isn't very good in kanji but tried to write it too. Anyone somehow could guess or what's he trying to write?
Sorry if this still confuses anyone, but somehow this intrigues me hehe.. ^^;
ohh it's a new page already. Sorry but here's the link again to the picture if anyone else interested 🙂:

(name)つめたい・・・・

What does that mean?
I googled it and it says it means cold then I try translating on another
online translator it says I want to stuff you lol.

Can someone tell me what exactly it means.
Thank you!

Which is the best way to say mobile phone in an official document:
けいたい or 携帯

ie ( 123456789 (けいたい/携帯))

よろしく

We need more context to interpret it accurately. But, generally, it would be the former one 冷[つめ]たい; "cold/cold-hearted", not the latter one 詰[つ]めたい; "to want to stuff".😌

Neither. 携帯/けいたい is an abbreviation of 携帯電話. Further, if you want to say "cellphone number" as in your example, it should be 携帯電話番号[けいたいでんわばんごう].

Can you say 長い間 in this way?

A: 毎日何時間働きますか?
B: 十時間ぐらい。
A: 長い間ですね。

Or something along those lines? How about 「長い一日」?

When talking about hours, we usually use 長い時間 (nagai jikan) or 長時間 (choujikan).
長い間 normally refers to more abstract period of time (and usually much longer than hours) and would not fit into this specific conversation, I'm afraid.

長い一日 can be used in the same way as "a long day" in English.
Like it was a hard day and one felt it never ends.

申請希望者の方がいらっしゃいましたら
This might be acceptable, but, grammatically, it should be 申請希望の方.

Ah, plus, one more typo;-)

hi, can you find the mistakes in this writing.

use 「か」 not 「が」

ご協力を賜りますよう
「賜りますようお願いします」は間違い? - 以前、知恵袋で「い... - Yahoo!知恵袋
「賜る」←「もらう」の謙譲語・・・自分の行為に用いる。※元は尊敬語だったが、現在では謙譲語。
I cannot come up with a reason、I am not used to this sort of very hard writing, but I personally feel something weird, maybe simply because I do not hear it often enough but I sort of feel maybe the politeness of the word 「賜る」 in the letter could be taken to be directed to oneself.

ご支援を賜る(恐れ多く受け取る)
ご支援賜るようお願い申し上げます
(恐れ多くも私が(又は他者が)支援を受け取る受けるよう尽力する事を要請している。)
who is 「恐れ多い?」 the receiver or the giver?

But anyway, you write better Japanese than me but maybe
「何卒、今後もご支援とご協力を賜わさせていただきたく、お願い申し上げます。」
(slightly repetitive but now receiver is obviously and surely, even I get it, feeling humble)
or
「何卒、今後もご支援とご協力をいただきたく、お願い申し上げます。」
sounds more standard and at least no mistake for sure

一層のご支援とご協力をお願い申し上げます。」
Maybe you would like to ask for more of something indirectly if you would like to be very very polite. Not like the sentence is offensive or anything but just as a general tendency, unless there is clear reason to ask for more of something, we normally do not mention it; because being not content at the current state could imply that you consider what you are getting now is meagre and we would like to eliminate any such possible negative impression that reader might get.

But this is way too fussy bossiness than I would like, your letter is perfectly fine and may even be overly polite: not to the point I feel 「慇懃無礼」 though.

p.s
You might want opinions from few more people, as I mentioned, I am not used to a formal writing.
Not like how you write a letter matters that much though probably

p.p.s
sorry I am getting confused myself.
「ご支援とご協力を賜りますようお願い申し上げます。」
is alright I think...because dictionaries say so!!

But the word is used almost only when we receive something from an important person (Japanese king in old days particularly) and that could imply that the person who received that something is also important.

so I personally use 賜わさせていただいた to explicitly express oneself feeling humble。

賜わさせていただいた
(賜ったこと自体を恐れ多く、身に余る事態であるとを感じている事を表す?)

賜った
(単に重要な人物から、組織から何かを頂いた。)

どうも自信がないんですが、私間違っているでしょうか?
皆さんどう判断されます?

何とも恥ずかしいのですが、「今後ともに」の正確な意味は何でしょう?今までと変わらずこれからも、という意味だと考えていたのですが、辞書を探しても見つからないのです。 皆さんどの辞書をお使いですか?

Wow you're a legend!!! thanks for your effort. I can tell you that i did not write this, I am studying business Japanese at university, and this what we had to learn today. I will read over your reply in detail tomorrow.

Hi!!

Could someone please tell me how to say "Welcome, how can I help you today?" in Japanese?. A friend of mine needs it for her job and asked me... and I'm really really rusty, so I don't want to tell her the wrong thing.

I don't need the kanji, just the romaji, to tell her how to pronounce it.

Thanks a lot in advance!!!

Whatever happened to on the job training for languages...no doubt your friend will appreciate the shortcut way if this is all she can say. :p

Irashaimase. Goyou wa ariamsenka?

Hi all!
Can this be one of the so-called 4-character idiomatic expressions and if so what is the meaning:

作者批判

Thanks in advance!

No, it is not.
But the first two means author (or creator of the work, usually artistic) and the second two means criticism.

Situation Translation from English to Japanese Romaji + Kanji

"Speak friendly and stop using those stup*d words!"
''If you like to fight then let's deal it outside please"
''The person that you are searching is over there''

狐狼狸- コロリ

狐 fox
狼 wolf
狸 raccoon-dog

But what about when you put them together?

That's what I was thinking given the context of the story, but on the next page it's referred to as コレラ so I was thrown off. Thank you.

Since you brought up 当て字 is there a difference between that and early 万葉仮名?
