「歴史的な関係」より全く同じ言葉だと思うけど…「つつある」 と「つつ、(while ながら)」の間に歴史的関係があるだろうと思うけど。。。
確かな証拠を全然持っていないですよね。 ☝

Honestly, I haven't have have time to look closely at it yet. And they may be interchangeable in some instances, or from the same root, but there are usages I've seen that make them seem somewhat different.See? Definitions 1 and 2ア... they're the same word.
They are different. They're different definitions of the same word. But they're still the same word. It's not a question of some mysterious historical link. You don't have to look at it "closely;" just read the first and second definitions of the つつ definition you posted, and you'll see that they describe, respectively, the two functions of つつ you were asking about.Honestly, I haven't have have time to look closely at it yet. Clearly there is a historical component if, as these explanations have laid out, つつある is a more recent variant of the word that has developed to cover the progressive tense of the first definition. I have not seen つつある used for ながら as much as つつ and certainly not for "though" or "although" as described in 2) イ。They are different. They're different definitions of the same word. Yeah, that much I realized. The part that was not intuitive was that ある was added more recently and had come to be applied to a more specific usage.Elizabeth:
つつある is つつ+ある, it's that simple.
デバルドゥール is debardeur... it's French.
コマーシャルプリント is commercial printing, maybe.
I think it means make it into, until it becomes, a thick, heavy cream substance.what does モッタリする mean? It's in a recipe I am translating, but it's not in any dictionaries. :x
What exactly does this say and what does it translate to?
僕がこのことを簡単に忘れると思ったら大間違いだよ。
Thanks
たいてい、自分に言い聞かせるために、「大丈夫だと思うよ」という人が多くないと思います。サラリーマンは仕事で辛い目にあって神経衰弱になっている。だが、大丈夫だと言
い張る:
「大丈夫だよ! 大丈夫だと思うよ!そうでなければ・・・」
その前の段落で、自分の弱さを認めないことの大切さを強調しました。 この場合
には「大丈夫だと思うよ」は"I believe I'm OK"より"I tell myself I'm OK"と言
いますか。
読んでいただいてありがとうございます。
As a response to an inquiry like this, I would think it more natural to say something like 好きなんです。Where the なん presents the preceding clause as some kind of explanationSuch as if someone asks me "Why are you two together?" or something of that sort
Hello, Buntaro-san!Hi everybody!
I have a Japanese friend who uses the word "iikagen" a lot. I am not sure what he means by it. The dictionary says (1) vague, (2) random. It also seems to imply it means nonsense. Can anyone give me some good examples? What are the most common meanings for this word?
