Hi I was wondering how do you say "Shut-Up" in Japanese??
この問題を調べてくれてありがとうございます、namichidoriさん!(3)---> めっちゃ <means just "very","extremly","terribly",etc> a vogue word
In case of (3), it can be used for both positive and negative;
めちゃ is also used in this meaning, particulaly among young people.
(ex) めっちゃおもしろい(+)、めっちゃ怖い(-)
(ex) めちゃかわいい(+)、めちゃ暗い(-)
「めちゃ」という言葉を使うのは全然お勧めしないけど。。。
Actually, I think there's nothing wrong with めちゃ or even めちゃめちゃ, but that's probably the Kansai influence speaking... But yes, in formal or polite company, it's probably too informal.なぜですか。つまらないからですか、それとも。。。
Um...it's kind of like the following...A couple of questions:
What exactly does 微妙 mean when insulting a person or talking about some item in a negative way? What would be an equivalent? I hear it and understand its meant to be a negative feeling, but I am not sure what kind exactly and my dictionaries aren't helping.
Hmmm....good question....Also, what is the difference between 注ぐ and 注ぐ (つぐ、そそぐ)? I thought I understand the difference but now I have seen tea and hot water be そそぐed, so so much for that.

So めちゃ is used at the same intensity level of other words like totemo, sugoi, hijouni meaning "very" or "extremely," right ? 「めちゃ」は 「とても、すごく、非常になど」と同じくらい強いでしょうね。
kora, ikade irikireru maro?
Is that a good sentence in romaji for "Hey, how are you?"

Not in real life but in a novel I've seen this name but to be pronounced しんこ as a female name.Sorry if this is the wrong place, but has anyone ever seen 森子 (もりこ) used as a first name for a girl?

「。。。」と、せきを切ったように言った。
What does this phrase mean? Is it like stammering something out? Also, obviously this is some kind of set phrase so it means something different in this case, but what せき is this coming from? The book I am reading [23分間の奇跡, a translated version of a story by James Clavell] doesn't use all that many kanji, which is making the reading a bit more difficult...
