It is proper noun for a bird.
ムラサキマシコ - Wikipedia
Maybe it is not well known as it is not found in Japan (to my knowledge).
People interested in wild birds should know ベニマシコ which is a bird in Japan.

How is more like どう、いかが？but "How was your day" is not a common phrase.
Usually it is "How was school" ? or "How was work?" 学校どうだった？」とか「仕事どうだった？etc.

1. But there are dramas with that kind of content, right?

Yes, "ssu" is shortened form of "desu".
e.g.
soudesu -> soussu
hayai desu -> hayaissu

It's very casual, OK to be used between close friends (especially by male) but you aren't expected to use it at work, or on formal occasions.
Perhaps it is similar to "ain't" in English...

I think you were reading too much into these or overthinking them cause there's no "who" or "which" in either of these.

ah, yes your translation of the 2nd question makes sense, I just drop the 'to omoimasuka' and there we are, 'do you want to become a famous person'. If it had been 'what'.. there would be 'nandesuka' and not 'to omoimasuka', de sho?


my misreading of the 3rd question came from the slash, it just threw me off, could it be phrased like this?

Hi everyone!
Can anyone help me find a Japanese way to describe a romantic relationship that can't work? I mean like Romeo and Juliet, or a TV drama where the woman loves the man, but she is already married so they can't have a relationship.
I remember there were many (obscure?) kanji combinations like that in my Nelson's Kanji Dictionary, but I would like something that is understandable in conversation.
