so vagabond would fit. The best word depends on context.

Hi! is おいど here really the same as お尻?

"丘の上の風車の素朴だったこと。番人のおじさんがいて(気管支が悪いらしくゼイゼイいっている)、特別に風車の中をみせてくれるという。御好意に甘えてみせてもらい一緒に写真を撮ったが、オジサン、ちゃっかりしてはる、 しっかりわてのおいどさわりはった!"

hi. is this the correct phrase? im working for a tshirt company. they wanted me to write "boycott israel" in Japanese word.
 
It works, but it sort of lacks the imperative punch of "Boycott Israel!"
With "Boycott Israel" you are commanding, telling, or inviting other people to participate in a boycott movement.

イスラエル企業と製品、ボイコットを！ might be better visually, as it implies a more strident call to action.

Maybe Toritoribe-san will give a native speaker's input.

ボイコット イスラエル also works well.
 
Hi everyone,

I have come across two Buddhist terms in Japanese, 羅漢 (らかん) (Arhat) and 菩薩 (ぼさつ) (Bodhisattva). Do these two terms mean the same thing?
 
In Japan (well, Mahayana Buddhism) the Bodhisattvas are placed higher than Arhats. If I recall correctly, Boddhisattvas are those who have already attained enlightment/buddhahood, but instead of extinguishing their "selves" and attaining a state of complete Nirvana, they choose to help mankind. Meanwhile, the Arhats are those who are still on their path to attaining enlightenment.
 
So they are different. Thanks! I was just curious if these differences are clearly defined in Japan by these two Buddhist terms. As you may know, renouncing Nirvana after enlightenment is strongly encouraged in Northern (Mahayana) Buddhism, whereas it is not in Southern Buddhism (and the various Japanese Buddhist traditions are of the Mahayana type).
