I'm pretty sure だけど is a typo of だけで.

イジった and イジメた both can be possible.

もん is a sentence final particle, explaining reason here. な is for asking confirmation.

Thanks for the correction, Toritobe , it should be だけで. So the complete sentence would be:
きょねんオレ達が少しイジっただけで学校に来なくなったもんな.
Which means: "Last year, he no longer came to school just because we teased him a little, didn't he?" (Is this correct?)
I took it that イジった as bully since the person they talked about used to be bullied.

Yep. The verb いじる can be used to mean something similar to bully/tease (maybe more like "mess with")

Hey there, folks.

Could anyone confirm the meaning of イヤミの嵐 to me? Not much is coming up on google when I search for specific definitions or meaning but, from what I could gather, am I correct in assuming that it's like ranting or complaining about something?

I just saw in this phrase (また上司のイヤミの嵐だ。。。) which was said by an employee after he screwed up on a job - he's worried that his boss will give him hell because of it, yes?

But you know what イヤミ is (or maybe it helps to write as 嫌味, or 嫌み？). So from there you can figure out what it means to have your boss unleash an 嵐 of イヤミ on you.

Yeah, fair enough - I was just wondering if it had some idiomatic meaning I wasn't aware outside of criticizing.

Hello there, the following is a sentence from a light novel:

かぎ爪を備えた前足もそうだが、鋭いくちばしまた鷲そのもので、サイズが大きいため、小柄なアカツキの頭などひとかじりに思えるのだろう。

The part I'm having trouble with is 小柄なアカツキの頭などひとかじりに思える. My attempt to translate this is "The head of the Akatsuki with its small build seems like a single bite", which obviously makes no sense at all.

It is saying that the animal has such a large beak it could bite the head off an Akatsuki in a single bite.

Hi, I'm wondering about this:
お兄さんじゃいられない
Someone translated it as - I can't be without "onii-san", but i'm not sure if that's correc.
I think お兄さん was in quotes, like 「お兄さん」じゃいられない, don't know if that changes anything.
Doesn't it have to be お兄さんなしじゃいられない for that meaning?

I think he's saying he can't be (or go on being) a big brother to someone.

What is the correct way to interprete 「人類が足掻くこと、費やして更に一世紀半」 part in this sentence? Something like "Humanity spent more 150 years for strugglining."（人類が足掻くことに労力を使って更に一世紀半が経った or maybe 人類が足掻くことにさらに一世紀半を費やした）?

Your translation is correct. The object of 費やす is 一世紀半. (This would be needless to say, そこ refers to 大地.)

@killerinsidee - something that would reverse the meaning doesn't just drop out of the middle of a sentence. Occam's razor suggests you found a bad translation, or the original Japanese sentence is mistranscribed.

Context would, as usual, undoubtedly make it clear exactly what sort of relationship is meant - 「お兄さん」is probably not referring to someone's actual, blood-relative "brother".

It isn't omitted. Consider the following:

もう先生ではいられない
もう先生なしではいられない

I can't continue being a teacher
I can't continue being without a teacher

Hey there, folks.

I'd like to ask for some clarification on the meaning of もたないところ as it shows in this phrase:

A: お前が人類を次の段階に進めようとするのは理解できる！だが、戦争をその手段に使うな！」
B: それではもたないところに人類は来ているんだ！

I've no problems with the first line but can't figure out that bit on the other one.

Not sure but maybe 持たない here has the meaning 「状態を保てずに消耗したり消失したりするおそれのある状況」(copy-pasted from weblio). So translation would sound something like this - "Without it humanity won't be able to hold oneself(to live)" or "Like this(without starting a war, advancing humanity to the next stage) humanity comes to a point(ところに来ている) where it couldn't hold oneself."

I also have a question in the following text. What is the speaker means by 「ここに奥の手まで付け足される」, they also has a trump card additionaly to their 身体機能の向上?

Hello friends, I've been struggling to translate a spoken phrase that I cannot seem to decipher with my limited knowledge. I'll try to convey the romaji properly and would greatly appreciate anyone who can correct my understanding and or translate this.

"Sore wa sekai yo okaskoi"

I can't determine what the last word is verbally but I'm sure someone more well-versed in the language could make sense of it. It may or may not be one word but it's definitely pronounced similarly to that, though my interpretation must be off.

I think it is - それは世界を侵す恋(Sore wa sekai wo okasu koi)
世界を侵す describes 恋
世界(sekai) - World
侵す(okasu) - invade, intrude, harm etc.
恋(koi) - Love
I'm actually not 100% sure about the correct translation of 侵す, if I'm understanding correctly it's number 3 here.
Some sort of translation: "This is the love which will harm(invade and bring harm) the world."
Okasu could be also written with 犯すor 冒す kanji, and the meaning will differ. But if I'm understanding correctly, this phrase is from 沙耶の唄(Saya no Uta), and 侵すkanji is used there.
