I don't think that's the correct translation, but that's all I can think of at the moment. I don't have any experience with the phrase "何らかの", so because of that I'm not sure. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts on this. :?

何らかの means "whatever."
手を打つ is a phrasal verb, which in this case means "execute a measure (as solution, corrective action, etc.)."

The sentence means "take whatever measure urgently and stop it."

I'm reading it as:

...regarding a family of four, a married couple aged between 20 and 60 (seems like a pretty big gap???), and their two sons.

Something doesn't seem right here...

Well sorry if I'm not good enough to see how the structure of the sentence works...I can't see what's nominalising what. And the ６０代から２０代 part doesn't have a まで or に which I would have expected. I'm reading 息子２人の家族４人 as "the two son's family of four" which of course makes no sense.

Yeah, the "made" or "ni" part is left out a lot in these constructions.

The latter part is essentially read "Family of four made up of 2 sons and the couple." I'm at work now so can't explain well either or think of an analogy Bucko would be more familiar with. Hopefully someone else will ride in and save the day for all of us.

"６０代から２０代の" and "夫婦と息子２人" is how it should be broken up. The key point is "の". Read it like this ６０代から２０代の......夫婦と息子２人の.....家族４人。
Read it out loud and emphazize the "の". I hope this helps... But I don't think I can save the day。

"身と心と魂の統一": mi to kokoro to tamashii no touitsu. This translates literally as "unification of body mind and soul". However mind is also translated as "精神" "seishin", but this and "心" have the same meaning as mind or spirit. That being said using these as well as "魂" tamashi(the literal meaning of soul) does not make sense to me. So I would suggest using this translation :"身と魂の統一", mi to tamashii no touitsu or ". :"身と心の統一", mi to kokoro no touitsu. This literally means "Unification of body and soul" or in the second translation "Unification of body and heart".

I hope you understood that, if not I will try to explain better.
BTW,
"統合"（tougou) instead of "統一" could be used ,but I feel that "統一" is the best word for unification in this case.

Epigene, I think I saw something like this in a sumo article a long while back. The only thing I could say about it is that 95% of the population would not have a clue what it means. I mean, when I first saw "一如" I thought it read "ichijyo". But, I have to give it to you for knowledge of the language (Not that it means anything coming from me, as I am no scholar)
