Need a Kanji Translated? Just ask!

Hello there, I found this forum by chance and I saw that there are wonderful people that help identify some kanji, so... here I am!

Anyway, I was translating something, but with the low quality of it and my not great knowledge of kanji, I cannot identify one of them.

What do you think this kanji is? I tried to clean it a little, but I'll give both versions here.

Are you familiar with looking up kanji by radicals?

Kinda; I found the 12 steps for it some time ago, but I still have some difficulties with the more complex kanji - and that's kinda obvious. Any tips for it?

Find software that lets you do multi-radical lookup. That way you can quickly and easily search for characters even when you can't determine the exact proper single radical it is categorized under.

They mean some people aren't very particular who they let write things on them permanently.

The one on the left is Chinese by the way, not Japanese (愛 vs. 爱)
And the one on the right, is a mystery.. I daresay someone gets his jollies making characters up on the fly ON PEOPLE'S SKIN!

I know the dictionary meaning is "dawn", but when I search up google image, all I get are images of noodle soup with meat.

The images probably came from a ramen restaurant of that name in Niigata.

Hello. I would very much appreciate it if someone could confirm the meaning of this kanji for me. I would like to buy it as a gift for someone. It's supposed to mean 'sobriety', according to the seller of the item. Is that correct?

If not, is there a kanji for 'sobriety' or 'sober'?

It would be supposed to mean "abstinence (from alcohol)", but the details of the kanji are wrong (it's barely understandable, though).

素面 is the one for "sobriety(undrunken)".

Looks to me as 禁酒 meaning prohibit alcohol.

Hey guys, I have quite a lot of kanji I need translated. These are the ones I've been unable to connect the radicals to (or, I probably could if I spent half an hour or so, but I don't have that kind of time XD). For now, could someone please tell me what these are?

Some of these are quite simple - try using a multi-component search and choosing only some components + approximate stroke number.

You don't know the radical for kanjis like 浴, 振 ?

To be honest, after deciphering kanji for over two hours, I was losing patience and just threw on all the ones I didn't know. I probably could've figured out a couple of them on my own, but for the most part I was stumped. Thanks, nekojita. <3

You need to familiarize yourself with the radicals more if it is your intent to do radical lookups. You gave up on several that are so incredibly common and staggeringly obvious that the only way you could miss is by not having put sufficient time or effort into learning the radicals themselves.

I study Japanese at my own pace, and between learning new vocabs, conversation practice and reading practice, I don't have a lot of time to revise on radicals. I know most of them well enough, but sometimes I find it difficult to see where one radical begins and another ends, so I find it impossible to look them up.

Study however the hell you want to, but don't blow smoke up our butts saying you know most of the radicals well enough when you most demonstrably do not. There were a couple or three tricky ones in your images, but the rest of them are simple and very common radicals. The only way you could miss them is insufficient acquaintance with them. You missed them. Therefore you are insufficiently acquainted with them. Quod Erat Demonstratum. Solution? Bone up on them if you intend to do radical lookups of kanji. Or don't bone up on them and continue having trouble doing radical lookups. No skin off my nose either way.

gonna have to side with Mike on this one. You didn't put enough effort and you admitted it yourself.

If you posed the same question on Japanese Language Stack Exchange, you probably won't get any help and get down votes and lose reputation points. JREF is a lot less lenient doesn't mean you should abuse it and asking questions that's obviously doable yourself.
