Well, I've looked all through the sections to post but I dont think this is a serious topic, more of an opinion and advice thing. So if any mod's know where to put this topic, please move it?

Well here's the situation I am in, After graduating High School in Texas, I plan to go to a Local 2 year college to get an associates degree in networking, and plan to Join the Air Force, my MOS (Military Occupation Service? or Job)is going to be in the computer field but I have not signed up yet, I am still checking up on other MOS's are available for me.

I was wondering if anyone out there who was or is in the Air Force, could you tell me about the living conditions, how many times you have been stationed or deployed, and what your MOS is.

Thanks.

P.S.

For those who know me and knew my plans to go to japan, have been canceled. T_T but I'll go next time, maybe my 30 day vacation and if I am in the Air Force I want to land in Misawa Air Base.(correct?)

Misawa or Yotoka. Misawa is way up north in the boondocks and Yokota is in Tokyo.

I can say one thing....USAF have better living conditions that we Marines do :-)

Ah, You mean Yokota AB. Well I dunno if I will ever go to japan, since my MOS wont allow me to go to Japan. I will be in the Space Program and Computer Security. I guess when I ever do get a chance to have a 30 day vacation, I will go on my Vacation to Japan.

Well its always true about the living condition hehe

Based on my experience in the Army I would have to say the USAF had/has the best living conditions and if I were to do it all over again, I may opt for the Air Force.

1 thing that worries about me, is that after you take the Airman Oath, you 1 hour with family. I think its better that if I was to enlist I'd go straight to BMT where it is in Lackland AFB in San Antonio, I live 4 hours away from SA (San Antonio), my AIT will take place in Vanderberg AFB in California. I hope to get stationed in Hawaii. hehe

Does anyone know a good memory you had about being stationed in?
