I have also been nominated by JAIST for university recommendation and my Professor told me that the results would be out in May. I am worried here as well.

Hi all, I'm from Vietnam.
I was selected by the University I applied through general admission for the MEXT scholarship. They told me the official results by MEXT will only available by July, so until then I will follow procedures like a general student, like paying Admission Fee and Tuition for the First Semester and following visa procedures.
Anyone in the same situation like me?
I apply for Doshisha University. Sorry, but what do you mean by general category?May I ask which university did you apply to? If final announcement is on july, that should be special recommendation... Most of us commenting here now is on general category.

@Federico, according to Mr. Travis's website, if MEXT announces the results by the end of the May, it literally means "the last day of May". Moreover, @Tepanyakigo has also a point, there's a possibility that MEXT will be delayed to announce it by first week of June.Nobody knows which day in MAy?

In totality, as per Travis's website, there are three MEXT reseasch student scholarship types: (1) General Category, (2) Priority Graduate Programs (PGP), and (3) SATREPS and e-Asia Categories.There are two types of recommendation, general recommendation and special recommendation. I just filled up all the MEXT forms and sent them to the University and to which they responded that I would be referred to MEXT by the University and the result would be announced in May. Since your result is in may, it means your application is in general category.
