Why don't we make group chat in LINE? They are using LINE app in JAPAN as their mode of communication. It would be easier to communicate through that.

I am thinking about Kita 8 actually. It's not very far from university and also has quite facility.

Ahhhh that email was what you were talking about hahaha! And I was getting so happy haha, because I was hoping for the official MEXT results. I am thinking of Kita 8 as well, but I have no idea how much extra charges we will have for the individual contract for gas and water, do you have any idea? My second choice is probably sosei ryo.
Well, they sent us an email regarding the dormitory information in the end of June already, so I don't think it can be seen as any confirmationAnd it seems that I was mistaken about receiving any email concerning MEXT results unfortunately. I am still waiting and waiting, but we're waiting together so that is all ok, haha! Ahhh, this feeling is awful. As Japan is 8 hours ahead, the first thing I do in the morning with my sleepy eyes is to check my email (followed by disappointment because I still haven't received anything haha). But I remember you saying that you would have to wait for post by air, because your uni wouldn't let you know via email? Am I mistaken?
Sosei ryo is also close to campus. But unfortunately we can only occupy the room on october 1st
Do you have any idea about the accommodation until then? I may choose that too if I can get some idea about the accommodation. The orientation goes in September 30th, right? So I guess we need to be in Sapporo before then.
My friend used to live in Kita 23. She said it goes around 25,000 yen for winter (if I remember correctly) for the total fee (including the basic fee,water, gas and all). But Kita 23 use shared system for water,gas,etc. I still don't know much about individual contract.
The assistant of my sensei told me that my official letter would be at hand by the end of July. Although I am expecting that somehow they'd still email me the result, yeah? Cause some Universities did it (I think so, based on posts of our colleagues here). Like they'd tell us that MEXT result came up and that they will send us this and that document. Whew. I check my email from time to time and always ended up like "ok then, maybe tomorrow" and so on. Whew.

Like Deziree says we will have to stay at a hotel until then. I still prefer Kita 8 over so-sei ryo, because those rooms have their own kitchen and showers. If we can choose our own flight dates, I am thinking of going there around the 25th of september. What about you?

Based on blogs I've read and based on my friend's account who's already studying in Japan. You may book a hotel/room accommodation first so you can have place to stay if your pre-selected dormitory won't be available yet upon your arrival. So you may want to book an accommodation in the nearest hotel in your University for day or two

thanks for the informationEverything will be take cared of by MEXT. The travel agency they'd be choosing would be the one to send you your flight details. Based on forums and blogs I've read they usually send it week before your flight. So yeah.

Ah yes, because I am thinking they will do the same at Hokkaido Uni. Hahahaha I have the same, I get so happy when I finally see a notification for email, and then it appears to be trash or other not-so-important-as-mext-email. Maybe tomorrow? Hehe

Has anyone got news from MEXT? I was recommended by Nagoya university for enrollment of this October however it's little bit strange since the Administration Dept told me that result will only be out until Mid August.
Hmmm... Not sure of which category I'm being recommend.
