Hi everyone,
is it normal that the applications haven't started yet in my country? I e-mailed the embassy, still waiting for an answer :/
I just got the answer that the applications have already started, it's just the scholarship's page on the website that isn't updated yet. thank you anywaySince every embassy is on a different time schedule it is possible the applications haven't started, but it seems unlikely. The thing I would advise you to do is what you've already done - contact the embassy and ask.
Which embassy is it? Portugal? My Portuguese isn't good enough to google and check if they're open...
By the way, in the research proposal I only had in consideration the two years that I intend to spend as a research student (even in the timetable) and just mentioned briefly about my plans of a master's course. However, I read somewhere that you should have those years as a master's student in consideration as well. I'm very confused if I should rewrite it or not Dx
Any other Canadians here that applied? I sent my application to Ottawa this week.
Hi everyone!! Another applicant from Malaysia here. I wonder if the examination results already came out. So, if there is anyone who had already received email.Would any of you mind share it here. At least I would've know if I'm not selected.. :') Thanks a lot.
Yeah...I got it too..Congrats!! Mine will be on 31st. you?I just received an email from the embassy for the interview.
Good luck to you!

I secured one last year but am always interested in everyone's fields and research interests. I am a student of political history.
What do you study?
Hullo! I'm an International Studies student. For MEXT, I catered my research towards Japan's foreign policies. Am currently so nervous about the interview, I hope we all do well in it.I secured one last year but am always interested in everyone's fields and research interests. What do you study?
Hi! I study comparative Indo-European philology. My field has nothing to do with Japan, but there is a professor there I'd like to study under. Are your studies related to Japanese history at all?
I think they may not accept my application though as it might arrive late. I sent it from the UK this week and the tracking still indicates it hasn't been delivered. It was supposed to be delivered yesterday and I paid £60 (almost $100) for next day shipping.
Canada Post is probably handling it on this side - they are terrible. I hope that they take it the postmarked date. It is not unheard of for scholarship committees to do that! Call or email the embassy?
But yes I have a Japanese connection - I have lived there before, speak and study the language, and will be doing archival research there as a part of my project.
Thanks for your advice! I contacted the embassy and they said they would accept my application since it was sent before the deadline! So relieved!
I think that as long as you indicate that you wish to pursue a degree program is fine.I just got the answer that the applications have already started, it's just the scholarship's page on the website that isn't updated yet. thank you anyway
