Why do not try to sent them an email questioning if they received your previous emails? if they do not reply, try contacting other professors as quickly as possible.Hi, Yes i sent emails to the departments and the professors, i was wondering if they were having vacations or something but the general department was working normally and actually they answered me the same day, probably they dont need anyone in their department and they just dont bother answering me? The general department told me to wait 2 weeks at most with every proffesor and that they are really really busy these days.. hopefully thats it.. btw the university is kyoto and the department is medicine.
I havent sent a confirmation email which is a good idea and i will today. I just tryed sending to another 2 universities but its been only a week for those.. so ill wait and see what happens... thanks for the advice everyoneill post if anything new happens

Todai's process of getting a letter is a pain thought isn't it? Registered mail, and whatnot. This is topped only by Keio or Waseda's processes... The latter of the two requires four pictures.Same here. I contacted a Todai's professor and I got a welcoming response from him. I even went to Tokyo to visit the professor and his peers in the lab. I really like the lab, and the life in Tokyo.
On the other hand, I didn't receive a friendly response from the professor of my second choice, and the last university didn't even reply to my e-mail at all.
It's definitely not a smart option to submit just one LoA; indeed, it's a dumb move in my case because Todai is a hot choice among candidates from all around the world.
Hey this advice is amazing i didnt even know email tracking tools existed, i actually thought about the english communication problem but my japanese is not good enough to make a formal email so i guess ill just stick with that. Whats starting to make me panic is the fact that i already sent emails to another university and its happening the same thing. Ill totally check those tools and im gonna change from hotmail to gmail just to make sure. Thank you for everythingHey Search, I understand how you feel as some Japanese professors are usually very busy and it might take a while for them to reply to your e-mails (not always the case but frequently happens). Also consider that some of them might not feel too confident replying to you in English (in case you are contacting them in English), so if you are going for a first approach I would try writing that e-mail in both English and Japanese just in case hehe.
Additionally, you might want to try some e-mail tracking tools just to make sure your e-mails were received by the professors, it could help you have a better idea of what is the status of your communication with them, I use them and they really help a lot, sometimes it's good (you know that they are interested) and sometimes not so much (when they ignore you hahaha).
So hypothetically speaking, if you get 3 LOA's from 3 universities, what are the chances of getting placed in your 3rd choice? Any ideas?
(2) Written examinations will be English and Japanese tests. The Japanese examination must be taken by all applicants. and the English by those who wish.
Note1: The result of the Japanese examination will be used as reference data for placement of university and Japanese-language education to be provided upon applicants' arrival in Japan.
(1) Placement of a grantee at a university will be made following a relevant request which was made to the university by the applicant who has passed the primary screening and obtained Admission. MEXT will request the universities named in the Placement Preference Form to accept the grantee, and place him/her there upon its approval in principal ( candidate who has received admission to a regular course for a degree will be placed directly in such course without needing to pass through a Research Student(non-degree) period).
If a candidate wants to enter either a public or a private university other than national university, the grantee's preference specified in the Placement Preference Form may not be met due to budgetary reasons concerning school fees, etc. Moreover, any objection by a candidate to the decision will not be allowed.
In case a candidate is not able to request Admission to any universities due to bad communication circumstances, MEXT will discuss with the universities which a candidate named in the Placement Preference Form. However the candidate may not be accepted nor may he/she selected by the universities and them by MEXT if his/her research program plan is vague, unclear, or insufficient in content , or his/her desired major field presents difficulty from the perspective of research guidance in Japan. In this case, any objection by a candidate to the decision will not be allowed.
