did you see a catholic guy saying: "I'm catholic but I think that Buddhism is the truth ". so why is he catholic ?

and the idea about he studied in an Islamic Center isn't a proof that he knows all about Islam ^^ and I add that the allmost of Muslims in the world don't know what are the basics of Islam and they pretend to know everything
 

We'll, the truth about islam may not be the ultimate truth or it might be the teachings of islam is not ultimate or profound for others or disagree with islamic teachings/principles.. that is why intellectual or no-intellectual people leave islam perhaps looking for another religious teacher/sage or become apostate...

Buddhism is sometimes viewed as a philosophy rarther than a religion, especially that it doesn't impose a belief in a universal daddy like most religions. This means that you may be buddhist while belonging to a relatively liberal denomination of some religion.

Also being "Catholic", "Muslim", "Jewish", you name it, may be a reference to one's culture rather than one's religious beliefs. I have a Christian friend who considers herself culturally Jewish, and some agnostic and atheist friends who consider themselves culturally Muslim.



I don't see why one should know "all" about a religion in order to determine whether they want to convert to it or not.. knowing the basics would be enough, and only when you agree with those basics would you pursue your self-query within that religion. Otherwise you'd just look somewhere else..

And using your very own logic: do you know all about Buddhism? Judaism? Hinduism? Even Islam? How can you be so sure that Islam is the adequate religion for you, even the one true religion as you say, if you don't have full knowledge of all other religions?

"Don't believe in anything simply because you heard it.
Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.
Do not believe in anything because it is spoken and rumored by many.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
But after observation and analysis, you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept and live up to it."
 
thanks and ya i read it and i respect all religions and i didn't post these links to show everybody that Islam is the best just to know about Islam

I appreciate it. I hope that islamic countries respect other faiths and people practise freely without fear or coercion especially in the arab countries. Its good to know that my fellow SGI-buddhist members in dubai had congregate themselves working to connect people irregardless of race or religion through SGI ideals for peace, culture and education.

sorry of i misunderstood that people learn the religion of japan and we know japan is culturally buddhist country mixed with along with it indigenous religion shinto..

1, Please take a look at the number of Japanese people on the forums. Not too high a number right?
2, Now consider how many of them are expressed Buddhist. 0?

This is a forum for those interested in Japan. That doesn't mean we're all interested in Buddhism. Buddhism in our contemporary world plays a very small role in the captivated gaijin's life. An additional thing. I am pretty convinced that Japanese people know very well what Buddhism is about and if they don't, despite the exposure to it in their own country... they don't give a toss.

The main idea behind the forum is to provide non-Japanese people with information. I mean, honestly, whats being said here on the forums is very often common knowledge to a Japanese person, because it is taking place right around him or her.

There and thousands of people visit the site, many of whom follow different faiths or none at all. A religious bias would be totally unjustified and pointless. The reason jref is a more or less healthy 'community' is because there is no 'head honcho' religion. Keep petty little religious rivalries the hell out of here. No one gives a damn about the conflict of faiths, because they never end. Both parties cite scripture and more and more scripture or some other medium for the countless lies and the debate goes on and on and on until the members age and die.

The day this forum develops a religious bias is the day the server should be smashed with a hammer and every last bit of data erased. Buddhism is no exception.

As epigene has already written, this is a section of the forum where people can discuss religion in Japan, so, the criteria for an appropriate topic in this section would be if it has something to do with a religion/religions and with Japan. The topic "Muslims in Japan" meets that criteria.

Another point made by epigene is that this is a place where people discuss those topics. We all know the difference between a religious meeting and a discussion group about religions, do we not?

We can talk about any religion as long as the topic has something to do with Japan.
 
I haven't met one native Japanes muslim,are there many converts ?
 
nichiren it is actually in our religion to respect other religions even if u cant be more sure that it is wrong and i actually dont care whether someone is christian or Jewish or anything as long as they r ppl who think like u u can call them ur friends and to be frank wid u guys i have a christian as my best friend and my other friends are either hindus, muslims or buddists i myself am an arab but i really dont care.hope everyone is wid me in this matter.arigato
now i would like to meet a japanese girl wid any religion r there any here.

Its good that u are not stock with islamic dogmas as most of its followers are.. Do u care to marry a woman u like who is non-muslim but it was forbidden in your religion..how come there is respect on it? how would u solve the issues? pls let me enlighten..

I have millions of friends in japan who were Soka Gakkai Buddhists..they are not contemplative group(as most other tradtional buddhists) isolated apart from reality but they are very active to put their practise in their lives and to society in the fields of peace, culture and education...

#2 weell some ppl r so into their religion honestly i am too sometimes if i heard someone talking bad abt it bt some ppl r just bored coz they dont have something to do so they make problems and big deals abt anything and one among them is the religions.so dont get worked up abt those ppl and a fact is most of those ppl are muslims so i really am sorry for that.its like they r sitting at home bored and then suddenly they go out searching for some troubles and i really dont know the real reason maybe bordem or maybe they r just evil :?plz if u saw a couple of muslims who r bad it doesnt mean all of us r.

I supposed ur from Qatar because of the flag below ur username..am i right?..But as muslim girl, are u free to choose and have the freedom to do in life? Do u consider yourself inferior to muslim man? i am sorry for being too askful..i am really trying to see the practices of a certain religious faith like interested knowing the cultural beliefs of islam.

so u dont care what teachings of islam are or u just a free spirit individual? what does islamic society expected from you especially ur a girl?
