Last Post Wins

?

Whoever thought this game up ought to be banned!

if one reads literally what the 1st post reads, then whomever posts
"last post" wins.

Actually here is the OP......
Last Post Wins
The game is simple...
The person who posts last reply wins the game
Locking the thread is not permitted
GAME ON...

So I have the "last reply" so I guess I win!

No, that's over here.
You're confusing games Uncle Frank.

Actually, I do not think he was at all !! It was very observant humour !!

Now, I just kind of noticed...that in a way, this is a free-for-all pad of expression-like thread. Anyone can post pretty much whatever they want to since there are only two main thread topics--1.) post 2.) be the last one to post.

Sometimes beer tastes good in the morning too. What's your opinion?

Only if it accompanied by cold pizza and my warm dis-believing partner.🙂😍

Now I wonder just "who" banned the OP.....the mystery unfolds, if I were a betting man, and I am, my money is on Uncle Frank. Any takers?

Do it....Do it...please do it...on a thread like this who is going to care?
I just know you have the hutzpah to say it.😍😍:giggle::giggle:🎈
This isn't the first one that came to mind, but it's more p.c.

Boobies don't need booby prizes!

warm dis-believing partner

Now you know...I can just somehow go along with that...yes...the 'dis-believing partner can be warm, and reachable whereas the non-believing partner cannot. Hummm...interesting.

and what is that difference between non - and dis, Mars Man sama?

and one more. Could you people enlighten me - what spirituality is? We have some discussion here
%))

I was only joking as well. Maybe I should have put one of these

Actually, I did post "last reply" in post #27.
Post #1 does not mention a maximum number of winners or "the winner".
So maybe we both win?

However it does say "The person"
and it uses "wins" which is the singular form.
As opposed to "They win" or "Janet & Stu win", the plural.

So either, there is only one winner,
or each person who posts "last reply" wins in their own right.

And, of course, since there are no commas to imply my interpretation
of things,
then it is probably as everyone, including me originally thought:
the last person to reply wins.

so, I win..., for now

OOOooo...You got one over on me !! I totally missed that. :p

Oh yes Void sama !! 'non' means it past recovery, a total cutting of the red string that makes the 'en.' 'Non' is as black is against white, like the negative in place of the positive. 'Dis' is simply a lack of while not being 'non'--such as disinterested is closer to interested than uninterested...in some spiritual sense.

Speaking of which, I will get back. I must sleep now...it's 1:48am. 🙂

so, dis- in any occasion will be more to the positive vector, unlike non-

well, wonder what should mean "dismissed" in that case %))) j/k

Not any more, you're not! :-)

Good point, there, Void sama !! It may well prove to be the case that the 'dis' combinations which have lost their 'power of permutation' earned in the combined form when in their separate form, or, those which simply appear to be combinations by mere chance, but really aren't, do not have this function.

If we were to take apart 'dismiss,' (the root verb for that adjective) for example, we will find that 'miss' as a verb, entertains extremely--if any at all--nuance of relation to the meaning of 'dismiss.' It does not have this function therefore. One main reason here, actually may be due to the Medieval Latin root, dismissus--but that is not always a factor either; take 'discern' for example. . . the Latin root is probably discernere which is a combination of dis (apart) and cernere (to separate).

There are cases where it is said that the suffix 'dis' does, in fact, equal 'un,' on the other hand. So once again, we find the ole 'exception to every rule' maxim.

Actually, it was especially in my case that I am making a decided application of the 'non-un' import behind the suffix 'dis' when I used my 'dis-believing partner' expression--although there are enough words using that in English.

Now spritituality is a state of mind, when looking from the 'top to bottom' angle. Let's start with that hypothesis and go from there; how 'bout it. :-)

ok... let it be for a starter
then how it is different from "arrogant", for example? which is also look from 'top to botom'

p.s. ssuffix? i always thought it was prefix... heh, will know

Prefix it is !! I have a tendency to slip on those two...hee, hee, hee....

Again, a good question. I will say, for the moment, that there may be no difference in some cases. Let's see if we can think of any similarities first.

I would think that both would primarily use the pre-frontal cortex area. I would think that both would rely on the limbric system...thus have a great emotional attachment. I'll check some more tomorrow or the day after. If you can think of any similarities, please list them. Catch you later !! Bed time now. MM

I could cheat and set up a macro that posts every 120 seconds in this thread and leave it running forever and ever and ever!!!!!!

however that would be no fun but I do like stealing the win from MM ;)

But people, please don't overlook that that last post has to be a reply. Since our OP has already lost out on defining that, it remains open--and I argue that it must be held to be technical and precise, therefore the last post must be a post in reply to the/a post before it. A random remark, even being the very last post every electronically made, to this thread, in and of itself not being a reply[/b], will not give us a winner.

And so. . . there you have it. MM

i guess, Mars Mаn sama, they just don`t get the point - one wins only when runs for certain goal, not for the sake of just winning.

"Tashi delek!" as they say in on the roof of the world %)))

well, to continue with our question...
Frankly speaking, right now i don`t see any apparent similiarities. Certainly, as both are of emotional or sensual nature they would rely on the limbric system, but the chemical rectiona they chain miht be quite different and thus produce different moods and attitudes...

I have 4 opinions on the subject so far (including one of my own and dictionary). And all of them start with the statement "i don`t know what it really is, but perhaps..."
it still doesn`t stop people from making such judgements that some people(nations) are less or more spiritual then the others.

nevertheless, all opinions include such concepts as tradition and morality. Guess arrogance to some extent is also based on traditions :D
probably, just one of many words wich bear highly individualised meaning with few common traits shared by the society
