Hi, I'm Samantha! I am an African American. I've been a fan of Japan ever since I was little (Can you believe it??!☝) If anyone remembers, the show called Shogun ? It was a very popular TV series of that time(which I can't remember now...). Well, anyway, since then, I was totally fascinated with Japanese culture and way of living. I had also been exposed to movies from Japan at the time, that I did not know was anime: Nausicaa by Miyazaki, and Five Star Stories Company: Dancougar Ace, GiKing(sp?), Spaceketeers, are a few of the titles that this company did. These shows were shown on cable, channel HBO, for the first time. It was not until later, at age 12, that I became infatuated with anime. I had met a club that was called the Indianapolis Animation Club at the first Comic Book Show, hosted at Holiday Inn. They were showing untranslated anime, that was fascinating. (They showed AKIRA, and Izcer-One. I don't remember what else they showed. I don't quite remember.) Since then, I've been working on learning Japanese by myself, by listening to pure untranslated anime, and books. Well, I hope to learn more Japanese and actually visit Japan someday. Ja ne!!
By the way, speaking of Samantha, I also remember Mrs Samantha Stephens of the old US TV program "Bewitched". So, when you come to Japan, you must be fame but only among seniors.
Konnichiwa Mrs Samantha. Welcome and you sound like you are in pretty deep. I got interested when I was in high school and started find stuff out for myself.
Hi, hee hee, yeah, lot of people think of "Bewitched" when they hear my name as well. I don't mind it. it was a cool show!! (I even watched as well.) Thanks, for the welcome!!
Wow, high school, I remember those days. And, I wish I could go back to them. Those were good days. Hey, do you like Gackt? Cause if you do, I LOVE his songs and his voice is soo semexy.
